I've been working on designing a mosaic crochet pattern for a Riker blanket, so I've been vectorizing our favorite photos of him. He is the biggest of stretchers.

My oversized hooded cowl certainly turned out oversized, that's for sure. (this is a good thing, it is so cozy wozy)

My insurance has covered almost nothing for me since we moved here and I feel like I'm throwing my fucking money into an endless void and it pisses me off, but I can't just not be insured because what if there's a medical emergency? One of the few things they MIGHT ACTUALLY COVER BUT WHO KNOWS.

Baby boy got to upgrade to medical shirt today. I was too nervous to bend his legs the amount that was needed to get them into the arm holes before, but it's been 3 days and he is technically allowed to start rehab exercises 3-5 days post-procedure so I felt ok about putting it on today.

This kid is high as a kite. The gabapentin and trazadone haze is real.

Riker has graduated from thunder jacket to medical shirt as his stupid self-inflicted shoulder/neck abrasions are almost healed. I just need something to keep his harness from rubbing what's left of the scab on his walks until his fur regrows. It's so cute 🥹

Somebody had an ultrasound this morning and now his tiddies are naked. (he may have bicipital tendinitis)

I don't really post on the internet anymore for fairly obvious reasons, and I never expected that not having an endless void to scream into would be so hard. Screaming privately at my close friends doesn't quite have the same cathartic effect.

My lazy bum of a freeloading dog finally went out and got a job today. *Kyle is a lab manager and he brings Riker to work sometimes and his staff really wanted him to have an ID badge (and so did we). Anyway, it's perfect.

I finally finished it. 423 triangles and like 200 hours/1.5yrs of picking away at it, and it's finally done. No more triangles. 🔺

After 425 triangles, I have to sew them all together at the dining table, and that is decidedly much less comfortable than making 425 triangles on the couch. My old crone back is hating this.

I am 11lbs away from my first weight goal. I set 3, because I'd be happy if I hit any of them. The first one is my requirement, the next two are just great if I can make it there. Anyway. I haven't been this weight since I was 19 or 20. So. 2025 did have a positive in there somewhere.

My brother is having health issues & all of his symptoms line up perfectly with the timeline for colon cancer & I am trying not to spiral until he gets in to see the gastroenterologist for more tests I'm worried the Canadian healthcare system will fail him. Specialist appts are difficult to get.

I am never doing hexagons for a bag ever again. Squares are superior. I'm glad this is done though because boy that yarn was miserable to handle.

I was REALLY hoping the 7.5qt Le Creuset Dutch oven in Nuit would go on sale for black Friday because I really need a bigger ditch oven, but it didn't ☹️ I could get a 7.25qt chef's oven, which is on sale, but I want the narrower base (rather than wider) and I don't love the colors 😢

I love my sleepy man so much.

I'm working on my secret santa gift and I have 140 ends to weave and I kind of want to vomit. I hate weaving ends more than anything.

My mother in law finally confirmed that she's driving down for Xmas this year, so I have until the end of November to finish this blanket I started for her last year (I'm travelling a lot in December). Godspeed, me.

I bought Goodles exclusively because the packaging made me laugh, and I am pleased to report that they also taste great, so this was an all around successful purchase.

I'm bulk baking some baked oats for the freezer and my brain kind of checked out halfway through assembling the pans and I forgot to divide the PB&J pan in half (PB one side, jam on the other) so that I could effectively swirl them together So it looks like we're just about to eat a loaf pan of jam

Kyle has also been working on his weight for the past year & is down a sizeable amount as well (I don't know the number... 70lbs maybe?). Anyway, we're hot now. (there is a reason I am holding a pingpong paddle with my best friend's face glued to it at our other best friend's wedding, don't worry)

In much less depressing news, I've lost 50lbs since April, so, I've got that going for me. Unfortunately, now a lot of my clothes don't fit, and I need to buy a new wardrobe. I hate clothes shopping.

Ok I'm done being a downer. I don't have many people to talk to so sometimes my cup of hopeless apathy overfloweth and I need to just toss some negativity into the void to balance things back out.

I think I might be depressed, but too stubborn and busy to acknowledge it. I feel stuck and trapped and gross and a little fearful, even though I have no legitimate reason to be. But, like, legitimacy doesn't seem to matter anymore, so. Every day is so much harder than the last. I'm so tired.

My life update is that I feel less accepted than I ever have in my entire life, and I can't really even talk about it anywhere for fear of consequences that shouldn't even be a thing. So that's been a cool way to live for the past many many months.

I just spent 2 hours trying to fix one of my spreadsheets for work b/c it was returning a -0.00 value, which shouldn't be, like, possible. So anyway, I just learned about the existence of floating point arithmetic and I'm SALTY about how much of my fucking time it just wasted.

I was aiming for 99 totems but on my 89th kill Y'ALLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLL ya gurl had a good roll finally.

We're trying minocycline for my rosacea to see if it has any impact on reducing the inflammation down to something that might then be more manageable via a topical medication (which is preferred b/c I can't take minocycline forever) & it is having an INTERESTING effect on the rosacea so far.

Obviously I've been away from Canada for a while now so I just now found out that Hudson's Bay is likely finally completely going under, and I can't really explain how sad that makes me. It's not like I loved shopping there. But the Bay has been a staple in my life for, literally, ever.

I know this won't be the case, but I won't be mad if I'm stuck progressing on M5S for a while b/c I honestly cannot get enough of that FUNKY GROOVE. Wiping 50 times in a night to a bunch of stupid mistakes? Can't get mad, too groovy.
