Bluesky's global active userbase is today less than half its peak. While the site briefly arrested a gentle plateau with a little jump last December, this year has seen the active user decline resume.

It was always a dumb shortcut strategy to port insta users over to a Twitter clone. People use Instagram and Twitter in *hugely* different ways. One is an app for close friends and family and leisurely pictures. The other is a fast paced app for news. My follow list on each is *hugely* different.
