I'd like to know which sport has the most parents competing at the Olympics. I thought it might be hockey, as so many NHL players marry their high school sweethearts and start families but it might be bobsled judging by how many of the athletes brought their children.

No commentary on the French feed, so we're watching the English figure skating gala feed. I'd forgotten how catty Kurt and Carol are. René and Allan never talk shit about the skaters. They just cheer them on and express genuine sorrow when things don't go right. I much prefer it.

Allllright. Canada vs USA for the gold medal! We'll also have the Women's Free skate on the go. Hopefully ice resurfacing breaks will be appropriately staggered so we can see as much of each on the big screen as possible.

Wtf? The women don't get their bronze medals right after the game, so don't get their anthem played, but the men do? I was looking forward to hearing the Swiss anthem. (As I have no idea how it goes.) I haven't seen Switzerland win anything since Stéphane Lambiel was skating.

I can't remember the last time I saw a pairs figure skating team in the top flights have trouble with a dismount. Two here tonight, plus a lot of strange little hiccups in the joining steps etc. Reminds me of Turino when all the ice dancers were crashing left right and centre.

Oh the women's pursuit was fantastic! Clean shooting gets gold and bronze medals for two of my favs.

I learned the glorious term 'the men are menning' from the figure skating sub-reddit (second hand from da husband who reads it) and today I think that applies to the men's biathlon pursuit. Not a single one of them shot clean! 60 of them!

I checked my heart rate in the last 2 minutes of that Swiss/Finland game and it was 103. I'm watching the game from a chaise lounge. That was a good game
