I was touched to stop in at Munro’s Books in Victoria and find my book, Crushed Wild Mint, is a staff pick! I signed their copies too, so if you’re after a copy — you could stop by Munro’s! They always have the best fancy pens for authors to sign. 😌

Today I popped into Ivy’s Bookshop on Oak Bay Ave in Victoria to pick up some new reads. And while I was there I signed a copy of #CrushedWildMint, so if you’re after an autographed copy stop on by!

I have the privilege of running a beautiful organization called Qqs Society. I spent ~15 years as the fundraiser for Qqs and have been the Executive Director for 5+ years. The seeds of Qqs’ work started in the mid-90s and it was incorporated as a society in 1999 and a charity in 2001.

Last Friday, the coast guard brought our little Indigenous community 2 humans who had been adrift on a damaged sailboat for nearly 3 weeks before they were rescued. They arrived in Bella Bella with the clothes on their backs.

Writers, help! I am feeling all the feelings as people send me selfies with their copies of my debut book of poems. I haven’t held it in my own hands yet. My babies are out in the wild. Intimate writing is now public. What is the pathway to feeling good about this and not — I don’t know, anxious?!

People are forwarding me their shipping notifications for preorders of my debut poetry collection and I am feeling all the feelings! 🫨 I haven’t even seen the book yet myself. How do I sit in the weirdness of this moment?

Very grateful, all things considered, to live somewhere that I can run into the on-call doc while hobbling to the hospital and get an x-ray in under half an hour. Rural medicine is undeniably rough for many chronic/critical things but occasionally it’s beautifully simple. 🏥
