May 3rd was the anniversary of my first post about suncrab, the obscure, kinda unpopular relationship between a tyrant-god-sun and a mailman-crab from Fallen London I'm ace aro-spec. I have never cared about shipping. I don't like romance. But suncrab? I like suncrab

I am obsessed with Modelland as I knew I'd be. I still can't figure out how to describe it. Transcendental. So horrific yet so blasé about it. My fav is yhe completely incidental side character of "mutant lizard man trekking to modelland to eat the pancreas of a 15 Yr old"

Make suncrab canon, i cry, like it isn't already so deeply canon it's the foundation of the entire universe. But also. everything about it is so uncertain we can't even be sure they even like each other #fallenlondon

I don't think modelland was written in our reality. This is, so far, the best way I got to describe it

of all the books I've covered, I think the one that still haunts me the most is 'Precious Blood'. I will be restrained (I will resist) but never has a book tempted me to hunt down the people involved so I can shake them by the shoulders. WHO at Simon and Schuster okayed that hatecrime of a YA book

As far as I can tell this is a book about a town where all women turn into demonic man hating horses every night. I'll have to report back once I learn the truth

This might be my favourite pulp sff introduction I've ever read. I love picking up a collection from 1970s and going "this perfect aligns with my sense of humour". Goddamn I wish *I* was writing the kind of nonsense I could ask a friend to over-interpret for me in an afterword!

Finished 'Needle in a Timestack' by Robert Silverberg! I liked it okay, but hard emphasis on Okay. The highlights were, perhaps unsurprisingly, the story about the lonely crab alien romance and the one about the giant bat alien (no reason in particular). But not a collection I'd recommend

Been ill, but going to get back to work soon. I haven't decided what book I'm doing next— instead I'm going to work on a Fallen London world/lore introduction video! I've wanted to for ages, and with the TTRPG coming, it seems an appropriate time. Plus, I'm autistic and this is enrichment

Mr stones isn't done yet but I love the side by side. Just a lil creature. It's been a hot minute since I worked on papercraft and picking this finicky bedazzled design was VERY wise of me. But Stones is my fav Fallen London master 💙

Some of my pulp collection with fun covers/names. I am very behind on reading so I have yet to read most of them, but a few remarks -yes I saw BREED TO COMES spine and grabbed it immediately. The cover delights. The innuendo delights more -I looove Spiders Robinson. Callahan's Crosstime Saloon ❤️

I'll do a vid on what I read in 2024 when I get my voice back, in the meantime I'm reading pulp! I find reading often forgotten sff/horror works from the 60s-80s is so refreshing after my job w bad YA. You never know what you're going to get quality... concept...... startling-prejudice wise
