have been using a home down perm kit for a couple months now and friends, i am sold. have a weird cowlick pattern (gotten worse with age?) that makes hair at the back right corner of my head stick out like a bow leg. don't need anything as extreme as this photo (no strips) but in any case IT WORKS.

TIL the first Starbucks in Georgia-the-country is opening in the location of a kind of yuppie cafe we used to go to (CoffeeLAB in Axis Towers in Vake). Too bad because I liked the food there.

my biggest memory from that trip was when the fire alarm (false alarm) at the hotel went off at 10:45 at night so we were told to evacuate but the doors were locked shut 😬😬 (alexander and this rando were able to overcome the magnetic lock with enough shoulder battering)

there was a drone attack on an oil refinery in Ryazan -- where alexander knows a lot of people (luckily all ok). the building in this shot is next to where one of his closest friends lived (no longer there; moved to Georgia-the-country with him).

Looking at our shared shopping list and I’m glad this one basically is the same word / translates itself (“vitamins”). (I assume he just defaults to whatever language he was last thinking in and has the phone keyboard set to, as most of the other items are his too)

i wish there was a poll feature because i'm so curious what other people think: which is more expensive? which has more included? --> an "economy light" ticket or an "economy basic" ticket answer in the image. (the next level of economy up is economy flex, basically full fare)

I don’t know if it’s because you’re so close to the water or because the water is so smooth or because the boat is electric so there’s no motor vibration but it really feels like you’re flying.

Oh, wanted to say that road tripping with an EV in Norway was as easy as expected, especially since it’s low season now (no waiting for the hotel chargers!) — but soooo many stations all over the place. Note the scale in the top right. 6 type 2 chargers and 18 fast chargers within a mile.

Anyways, driving back to Oslo tomorrow (friends we’re traveling with are back to work on Monday) so it’s almost the end of our road trip. I’ve done basically this circuit twice before by rail (solo and with parents) but doing it by car (with friends) is definitely a completely different experience.

Tried to pay for an ice cream at a supermarket with this bill (worth roughly $5) I had from my last visit in 2016. Cashier looked perplexed, flipped it over and over until she finally asked, “is this an old one?” — checked Wikipedia and they became invalid in 2019 😂

😭😭😭 I was so confused trying to separate our McDonalds trash. The cup lids and straws are made of cardboard so no longer go in the “plast[ic]” chute like the picture says but I wasn’t sure if they are truly “carton” so I just put it in the remaining waste chute on the lower right 😂
