The music department and the OAE had the pleasure of hosting Sheku Kanneh-Mason and Plínio Fernandes last week. Over 150 students were treated to a beautiful cello–guitar piece, followed by an inspiring Q&A where the pair shared stories about their musical journeys.

Y11 history students recently explored the streets of Whitechapel. They learned about the area and Jack the Ripper, then headed to the London Dungeons for the afternoon to find out more about crime and punishment across various periods in English history.

For #AntiBullyingWeek, we reintroduced the idea of an active bystander and asked students to think deeply about power imbalances that occur in society and how this can contribute to bullying and how we can shift this as individuals.

Thank you to Dartmouth Park Film Club who held their 10th anniversary screening in our Hall for All last week. Local stars of the Ballad of Wallis Island, Tom Basden and Tim Key, did a Q&A after the film and a total of £200 was raised for the @hallforall.bsky.social project!

The Band Club recently had the opportunity to perform with INTRA Music at the Camden Club!

Our Y10 performing arts students enjoyed an amazing trip to see ABBA Voyage. Drama, dance, and music students were chosen for their contributions to the department in extra curricular activities and excellent attitude in lesson. @abbavoyage.bsky.social

Last term we were proud to host the Camden @unicef.org Rights Respecting Schools Launch following our bronze award in September. Students from schools across the borough attended to hear how Eastbury Community School achieved gold status, then worked on their own action plans.

The Y9/Y10 football team have won the Camden Shield! They displayed great determination and teamwork throughout the competition, playing 5 games – winning 4 and losing 1. In the final, they faced the team they had previously lost to, but with focus, they secured a 3–1 victory!
