Great fun this afternoon as P5M played dodgeball in PE 🙌🟡

And finally, we had parents evening number 2 this week. It was really lovely to meet everyone over the course of the two parents evenings 😊

And we continued learning about space as part of our topic 🪐 🌙 🌎

We watched brief highlights of a certain game at Hampden then P5M pupils wrote some excellent acrostic poems about SCOTLAND ⚽️ 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿

A busy week in P5M this week. We researched what our names mean (and our teacher told us the story behind his unusual name) after reading “My Name Is A Gift” in a project working alongside our friends at Maddiston Primary School ☺️

P5M stuck their poppies made during yesterday’s lesson onto paper plates and added posters to make a lovely classroom display to mark Remembrance Day. The children choose which area of the classroom they wanted their display to go and helped decorate it themselves. Lest We Forget

Today P5M were very respectful as they learned about Remembrance Day. They heard the story of Jack Cantwell who was in the navy during the Battle of Okinawa in Japan in 1945 and a year later he was scoring goals for Celtic FC. We even tried on Jack’s Atlantic Star war medal 🥇

We also created some pretty impressive pumpkin bats 🦇 Happy Halloween everybody 🎃 👻

Great to welcome P5M back to school today 🤩 Just sending out a gentle reminder to all parents and carers to ensure your child has a raincoat or jacket with them every day until spring term as the weather is unpredictable. Thank you for your help and understanding 😊

P5M have our class award afternoon tomorrow. Children are allowed to bring a change of clothes and a small snack, if they would like to. But no nuts, please 😊

P5 really did make us proud during the visit from members of Food Train. Feedback from the children were that they really enjoyed it, learned some new things, they loved the stories/games shared & felt a sense of community. In writing today, P5M watched Jacob Frey’s award-winning CGI short film “The Present” and then we invented our own endings to a story about a mysterious package being delivered to us ✍️ 📕

Finally, printed words for our “Golden Harvest” song have been sent home in P5M’s bags for pupils to learn ahead of next Friday’s Harvest Assembly 🎵 🎶 Have a lovely weekend everyone 🙌
