End of Watch: Police Officer James R. Rogan February 22, 1978 Honoring Officer Rogan, who served the Clark County Sheriff’s Office for nearly 8 years. He was tragically ambushed and killed during a traffic stop on Paradise Rd in 1978. He was 41. His courage and sacrifice will never be forgotten.

TOP CRASH INTERSECTIONS – JANUARY 2026 These are the 50 intersections in our jurisdiction with the highest number of crashes last month. Our department is focused on saving lives and making the roads safer for everyone.

Sheriff Kevin McMahill provided an update Saturday regarding a search warrant involving a suspected biological laboratory inside a residence near Washington Avenue and Hollywood Boulevard. This is an isolated incident and there is no threat to the public.

EOW: Sgt. Henry Prendes February 1, 2006 Today, we honor Sgt. Prendes, who served the LVMPD since 1991. A man of deep faith, he kept a Bible in his patrol car. He was ambushed and killed responding to a violent disturbance. He was 37. His courage and sacrifice will never be forgotten. 💙🕊️
