There is a weird trend in the climate and energy advocacy space where someone just becomes a volunteer big tech / data centre defender, and I personally think like 95% of these cases are down to them having become immediately fully reliant on Claude or whatever, and they don't want to give it up

Ok, let me state one step more formally my problem with AI code. You cannot trust it to be more expert than you because you cannot check and verify what it created. It's beyond you. You cannot be responsible for it, nor can the AI. It can ONLY be used as a toy or subset of your abilities.

I don't think Anthropic really meant it this way but what an amazing demonstration of why generative AI's energy consumption is only getting worse, and dirtier. "Improvements" only come from nesting chatbots within chatbots, rather than any fundamental smarter design. It's Bitcoin x 1000

Europe is going to build camp where they will concentrate undesirables before getting rid of them. I wonder if there's a term for that? This is no different than the MAGA plan for White supremacy. The EU can pretend it's better all it wants. It is not.
