My colleague Rep. Mike Levin and I introduced the Plastic Pellet Free Waters Act to protect Michigan’s waterways and the Great Lakes from harmful plastic pollution. This legislation will help prevent plastic pellets from entering our waters, protect wildlife, and preserve the natural resources.

Nurse practitioners play a critical role in expanding access to care across West Michigan. It was great to connect with a local nurse practitioner to discuss ways we can reduce barriers, strengthen the health care workforce, and get patients the care they need.

I stood with my colleagues in the Democratic Women’s Caucus today to defend Americans’ fundamental right to vote. The SAVE America Act would create unnecessary barriers for eligible voters, especially women. I will always fight to protect our democracy and make every citizen’s voice heard.

Today marks one year since the deadly crash at DCA that took 67 lives. We remember those we lost, stand with their loved ones, and continue the work to strengthen aviation safety so tragedies like this never happen again.
