Ike the Crow comes to bike in P.E. today! A crow decided to spend the class period with our students during the Bike Unit. Ike, as the students named him, was very interested in the sparkling shoe laces of my student.

Don’t be afraid to think outside of the box when making minor modifications to P.E. equipment. Here I picked up a kids basketball hoop at a garage sale to use during my Basketball Unit for a student who uses a power chair.

Cut a large cardboard tube in half, add tape to the edges that were cut to smooth out the rough edges and you have a simple easy to use ramp for a variety of games/activities indoors or out. Here we are playing Bocce Ball.

When the weather cooperates, I take my younger DAPE students outside to teach safe sledding skills and enjoy the great outdoors!

Adding a short pool noodle onto a jump rope can help provide extra weight to help turn the rope overhead and provide an easier visual aid as to rope relation to feet to help with jump timing.
