Hi everybody! I'm Mike - I run Paper Realms, a labor of love to bring papercraft terrain and props to your TTRPGs. Start with just a little, or build an awful lot. There's no wrong way to play. Everyone is welcome in the Paper Realms! Website:

Skulls of massive creatures rest atop sagging shelves of books, their cryptic titles making little sense to you. Nearby, a glass cabinet is filled with preserved flower specimens unlike any you've seen. It's almost too much to take in. (Hey - that's a

My wife and I did a dice making session at a local craft store. It was a lot of fun, and we have even MORE respect for the gorgeous hand crafted dice folks make. Can you share your favorite small dice maker with me? Mine came out pretty meager! lol

This is your regular reminder to tell TTRPG creators about how it goes when you run your stuff. Comments on Itch about my adventures make my day every single time.

Light from outside fights the accretion on the windows, allowing the emporium to be only dimly lit. Coming in from the bright sun outside, other senses take over while your vision grows accustomed to the shadows. Pleasant smells of aged parchment. Homey sounds of the creaking floorboards underfoot.

The hours of operation at Elysana's Oddities are entirely at the proprietor's whim. Should you find the front door locked and your needs urgent, your best course is to try a creative, rhythmic knock and hope the building takes pity on you.

Elysana's Oddities. Tucked in the back corner of the market district, Elysana seems to have just about everything that nobody would want. It's easy to let the day slip away among the shelves lined with eccentric books and mismatched bric-Ă -brac.

The "Corner Tile" addon can make (among other things) octagonal buildings. What would you make a little building like this for in your village/town/city?

I can't stress how important it is to have the Prehistoric Panic set of minis on hand. Not only are you getting DINOSAURS, but you're getting ZOMBIE DINOSAURS and SKELETON DINOSAURS. I use too many words, so I gotta more posts to explain how my brain works.
add a skeleton here at some point

First prototype made for some destroyed floor tiles. For my own purposes, I'll get a little further along with the floors, then I'll take a look at busting up some walls!

Need some inspiration? Enjoy experimenting with modular terrain pieces! Here's a lovely house with a basement. What unexpected surprises might be down there? A dusty old cabinet or stack of crates could be hiding a door that opens up a whole new world to explore!

What have you built with our modular terrain? Need some inspiration? How about a gatehouse! Designed in a number of separate sections, this can easily let you have fun inside and out.

A nice thing about modular terrain is you can modify the pieces. Some of the modified pieces I've done end up packaged up as products or freebies. Here are some examples. You can pick these up for free and blend them into your existing paper terrain sets!

The Stone Buildings Set scratches that bucolic itch for your gaming table. Build tiny or build big. Make yourself playable interiors as well as exteriors. If you have any of our other building sets, you can swap the roofs, use different floors... It's amazing what you can do with paper terrain!

The Manor House Building Set is a completely modular paper building set for your tabletop games. Build a small guild hall, guard tower, sprawling mercantile facilities, and more. The pieces store flat and can be assembled in all sorts of ways.

I show off a lot of props and modular terrain, but we've got building models, too! The Tower House is designed to be a flexible model where you can choose what you want. Just the tower? What if you just want a new meeting house? You've got options!

The Metropolis stands alone, but is a also great companion to the Under the Metropolis set. It's a full building kit, which is to say in addition to new walls, floors, stairs, posts and railings, it has a complete roof and truss system to go with it.

The Under the Metropolis set led to a favorite add-on of mine: Legends of the Metropolis! Featuring
@kevslounge.bsky.social
artwork turned into mosaics, they tell stories right inside the terrain. Best of all, they are all paper minis, so every mosaic you use can foreshadow the encounters to come!

Under the Metropolis sets the stage for a unique setting to adventure in! Rather than dank and dark, this is far more elegant; pillars and patterns adorn the walls, with reliefs, curtains, pools and mosaics. You can find all our modular terrain sets on our website and through DriveThruRPG.

The mines weren’t as empty as we had thought! These could be crystal golems used by an evil wizard using the mines to harvest some source of magic. These could be entities from another plane, entering through a rift accidentally opened during mining operations.

The Tudor Buildings Set is a versatile modular building set on its own. There are a bunch of add-ons for it as well, like the corner tiles used here, or storefronts, stone foundation walls, bay windows... I'm planning on adding more to this set! Are there particular add-ons you'd enjoy?

The Gaping Gateway was a cheeky nod to a certain well-known tavern in another realm. It is designed with different ways to set up a lift, and is a pretty cool centerpiece for tavern spectators to enjoy. I often use the lift in cavern settings, too!

If you’re not a Draw Steel fan, bone piles are pretty system agnostic. Who could resist a pile of treasure under some bones? This is definitely not a trap!

More experiments with breaking things… these aren’t final - just getting a process down. Next I will spend some time on the different walls, trying out moss, vines, etc. The floors come after that!

I’m 100% biased, but paper minis are the perfect option for meatspace Draw Steel. The first encounter in Dark Heart uses 18 monsters! That’s so many guys! Good thing you can print out as many guys as you need!
