Sometimes a small gesture reminds you of kindness in the universe. One of our residents gave me a grapefruit this afternoon from their family's orchard. I was sitting at my desk feeling sad about life in this country she handed me this grapefruit and suddenly I felt like we might possibly be okay.

I have currently a $37 a week budget for groceries. That's including cat food and toilet paper. So it's taking a lot to get creative. Next week is breakfast tacos for dinner. Every night. $12 for 7 tacos. $1.70 a taco. One taco per dinner. #strugglemeals
