Is anyone able to work some magic with this cancelled (but dated!) inscription? The poem is a response to a mathematical poem by Joachim Heller, a conversation between a mule and an ass about the equitable division of their loads. I think I want it to say Mary Salmon a bit too much!!

Love and am intrigued by this photo taken in Paris in the late 1940s. Dude on the right is my mother’s uncle; couple in the middle are my father’s uncle and aunt. Have no idea what they were doing or what brought them together; don’t think they had further contact until my folks married in the 70s.
