Rented it from Blockbuster. Vivi's open existentialism spoke to me as a devoutly religious kid, who, deep down, struggled with believing in an afterlife. The gorgeous background art and pre-rendered cutscenes immersed me into the world. This game opened the door to so many other subsequent JRPGs.
