I feel like I constantly fall into a trap of buying old games because I never finished them, but when I try to play them now, I still don’t finish them because they feel old.

I think the big difference between the AI bubble and the original tech bubble is that AI is going to obliterate billionaires, VCs and Hedge funds. And since the working class is already fucked, just grab a chair and watch them eat each other alive.

Semi-related; with the success of Silksong and the likely success of Hades 2, we’re going to see an influx of indie games that are going to try and be EXACTLY those games and they’re going to almost all fail at doing so. Wish teams would stop doing that.

Anyways...I think the games industry, while making "good" games, hasn't been the same since the start of the PS4/XB1 era of consoles. Combination of hyper-capitalism and a consumer base that's willing to exist solely within their comfort food entertainment has made gaming kinda suck shit.

My problem is that there aren't actually that many games. For the most part, there are 6 or 7 games replicated endlessly, leading to a feeling that I've played all of these things before. As the industry obsessively trend chases at every budget level, it's making it hard to find "interesting" games.

Much like Hollow Knight, it feels like subtle iterations in the Hades formula has made the sequel click for me in a way the original did not. Something about Hades 2 and Silksong just "feels" better for me.

I can not emphasize enough that this is not a joke, and nothing in this game actually makes sense.

After sleeping on it, I think I need to be a lot more selective about what I buy on Sw2. It's going to be a platform for 1st party and non-graphic intense indies... and that's about it. Everything else is just going to be significantly worse than any other platform.

I just spent 15mins on the same 10ft segment of Baby Steps, and this is probably the stupidest game I've ever played. It's great.

Finally got around to playing some LEGO Voyagers. Port feels pretty bad. IQ isn't particularly sharp, and there's a lot of frame drops. It seems pretty likely that Sw2 is going to be the worst place to play...pretty much everything.

I had the SoP on while I made dinner and that was certainly a very State of Play quality show. On the plus side, I don't need to worry about budgeting for games. On the negative side... I have a nearly $1100 PS5 Pro that I'm unsure of when I'll get new shiny stuff for.

Feels like a problem for the industry that the most interesting games being shown are just re-releases and remasters. Newer games, especially bigger budget things, just don't look compelling.

Despite having a diverse line up, and a bunch of different dev teams, Capcom's output outside of Street Fighter has never consistently "hit" for me, and I could never figure out why.

My PS5 Pro has been a funny investment, because the games that support it have been somewhere between meh-to-bad, and then I bought the disc drive to move to physical... but then moved to just not buying or playing anything on PS5 almost immediately after. Good times tbh.

In other news... I'm looking forward to Kiwami 3, despite the fact that I have struggled to get through any of the Yakuza games (although I had no issues with the LaD RPGs).

I'm very LTTP, and I didn't read the manga, but S2 of JJK being a 5 episode flashback into an anime episode of 24 is kind of wild since the series kinda felt like pretty normal shonen stuff in S1.
