As we (rightly) condemn the violence that has erupted from the protests in LA, let’s not forget how we got here. The administration is oppressing immigrants (of color…they seem fine with white, English speaking immigrants). Protests against this oppression (rightly) began.

Nonviolent resistance is the only way forward. God bless and protect those oppressed by this administration, and those standing in the gap. Be blessed, my friends. Choose love. Choose kindness. Resist evil.

I am proud that the protesters are standing in the gap for the oppressed, standing against the oppressors. And also…Governor Newsom is right. Violence begets violence. The only way to truly stand in the gap as Jesus taught is through nonviolent resistance.
