The president has ended protected status of Ethiopians, Haitians, and Somalis and will deport thousands — including children who grew up in the US. Many will be forced to return to countries still experiencing armed conflict and instability. This decision puts lives at risk.

UPDATE: We now have enough signatures to vote on extending Affordable Care Act tax credits and lower health care costs. Health care should be a human right, not a financial burden. Speaker Johnson must bring this legislation to the floor for a vote NOW.

Today I asked the FAA Administrator about DOGE’s short-sighted cuts to grant funding for aviation projects, including upgrades for the solar farm at the Indianapolis Airport. This grant should not have been terminated and I've urged the Administrator to review and restore this funding.

These violent threats from my colleague in the House of Representatives are vile and dangerous, and we all have a responsibility to call it out. A sitting Member of Congress openly endorsing violence against millions of American Muslims is wrong.

DC consultants came up with a new congressional map that makes no sense for our state.  •Indianapolis would go from 2 districts to 4  •Rural counties would have to share their rep with Indy •Indy would get fewer resources and services — and so would rural areas.

It’s clear DC consultants who don't know the first thing about Indiana drew this map. These districts:  🕑span 2 different time zones 🚗would take 3 hours to visit your congressperson's office—which your tax dollars pay for.

Hoosier values matter more than DC threats and bullying. Splicing our state’s largest city—and its biggest economic driver—into four parts is ridiculous. It’s clear these orders are coming from Washington, and they clearly don’t know the first thing about our community.

It remains to be seen what happens in the Senate, but I will not vote in the House for a government funding measure that doesn't protect healthcare.  Without extending Affordable Care Act tax credits, millions will see health insurance costs double. Hardworking Americans just can't afford that.

Can you afford to pay $17,000 more in 2026 for the same health insurance you have now? Of course not.

This week, a constituent told me about a child they met at a local food giveaway.  A little girl looked around and said, "Look, Mom. We can make sandwiches now!"  No parent should have their grocery money snatched away from them. No child should ever go hungry.

Experiencing delayed flights and crowded airports? The Trump administration is slowing air traffic volume because of the shutdown, and because exhausted air traffic controllers aren't getting paid.

While President Trump is playing politics with SNAP benefits and while MAGA Republicans are preventing federal employees from receiving their paychecks, Hoosier families still have to eat.

UPDATE: Trump backtracked and threatened to refuse to release any SNAP funds. Then the White House backtracked on Trump's backtrack.    He has the funds. He has a court order. The Trump administration must ensure 22 million children don't go hungry.

The Trump administration has the funds to FULLY sustain SNAP through November. But he’s only funding it partially, doing the bare minimum to satisfy a court order. He’s playing politics with children’s hunger, and it’s despicable.

Indiana lawmakers will convene on Dec 1 to unfairly redraw our congressional districts 5 years early.    Just last week, my office helped an Indy resident get back $10,000 in Social Security payments. This is the type of work my office does every day — & what's at risk with this blatant power grab.
