Just another nasty Canadian.
If you still need to vote in the Alberta municipal election - leave work early! The UCPs new rules have slowed voting to a crawl. It’s voter suppression, Alberta style - unnecessary paperwork hand written in triplicate.

Don’t for a moment think adding citizenship status to your driver licence is about good governance - the UCP would force immigrants to wear symbols on their clothing if they could.

I’m not sure why people think that there is a chance in hell that Poilievre might lose the by-election. 70% - 75% CPC.

Any strictly Alberta issues Premier Eby would like to weigh in on? Perhaps Wab Kinew can share his thoughts on Alberta forest fire management failures . Or is only Alberta allowed to stick its nose in?

Danielle Smith backs 'better way' than cull at B.C. ostrich farm hit by avian flu
Alberta Premier Danielle Smith thinks authorities should be looking for a “better way” than a mass cull to deal with a B.C. ostrich farm that suffered an outbreak of avian flu.

I’m watching three seeding planes fly around Calgary on Flightradar 24. I appreciate that insurance companies are paying to protect us from massive hail but frustrated our own provincial government can’t be bothered.

Mark Carney is a blue Liberal. Like Paul Martin. Even Uncle Louie. If you are shocked by his approach to the economy, the monarchy or nationalism I’m not sure how he could have been any clearer.

Question for AB politicos: the newly reregistered Progressive Conservative Association of Alberta will definitely have two sitting MLAs next session. How many others do you think will leave Danielle to join them? And how many seats for official party status?

Been standing in line at Urgent Care for 20 minutes just to see a triage nurse for my very sick wife but sure, Danielle, please explain why we should spend that $100 million on a provincial police force instead.

I saw a 1930’s picture last week of a German soldier protecting a member of the paramilitary SS as he went searching for “undesirables”. History always repeats itself for those paying attention.

I’ve had what looks like a RCAF Griffon circling my end of town for the past two days. Odd because we’re at the opposite side of town from Calgary International and nowhere near the route out to Kananaskis for the G7. The obvious conclusion is a dignitary wants to come and visit my awesome garden.

60 year old Flames fan here. I was asked if I was cheering for the Oilers. Was hard to explain to the 20 year old bartender why - as a Canadian - I hope they win but - as a Calgarian - would rather sit in a tub of acid and bang nails into my head than sit down and watch them win.

Also, former EPS chief Dale McFee, hired by Danielle Smith as friend as the most powerful civil servant in the UCP government, had a personal relationship with that businessman, Sam Mraiche. Awkward situation given the RCMP criminal investigation. I could go on and on with the connections.

One of the ongoing complaints Alberta seems to have are federal transfer payments to Quebec. One of the biggest reasons they need transfer payments is the absolute destruction the threat of separation wreaked on their economy. The head offices and capital that fled never returned.

Danielle Smith’s hero Ron DeSantis was all in favour of ballot measures as well - right up until voters started approving things he disagreed with. Then he banned ballot measures in a dead of night session. It’s never been about what actual voters wants.

Trump announces 100% tariff for movies produced outside US
Trump said he was authorizing the U.S. Trade Representative to process the institution of the tariff because the United States' movie industry is dying "a very fast death" due to other countries offering incentives to attract filmmaker's and studios.
