Tuesday 12/2/2025 Was North State Giving Tuesday. It was our first time participating in the event and we did well, we raised over $3,000 on their online donation platform! We also had our first ever Open House to show off our small but mighty facility.

On 12/6/2025 The Crew of the Yreka Food Bank was able to start kettle collecting and bell ringing for Salvation Army at the Yreka Walmart from 10am to 3pm Thank you Kathleen, Jeff and JM for that!

From now til they pull in the bins, we at the Yreka Food Bank are still a Toys for Tots drop off site! Come in and see us and drop off a toy for a local kid! We support our fellow community organizations the best we can!

From 12/01/25 through the week before Christmas The Yreka Food Bank has the honor to facilitate the Angel Tree at the Yreka Walmart for Salvation Army again this year for North Siskiyou County!

On Friday Night December 5th, 2025 Three Yreka Food Bank Board Members were able attended the Madrone Hospice Light Up a Life Name reading ceremony to honor those loved ones we have lost.

For the month of November 2025 We have had a great collaboration with Wonderland Pets and Stuff. Tina, the owner, is such a big supporter of the Yreka Food Bank and we thank her for that.

On December 1, 2025 Volunteers of the YFB collected the second round of donations from the Fairchild Medical Center food drive at their various facilities around town. We thank them so very much for the second round of support during the holiday season.

From 12/1/25 The YFB want to give a shout out to Tri-Counties Bank Yreka Branch for being able to partner with them to do a seasonal food drive that will be running till December 25.

You’re invited to join us at the Greenhorn Grange for our next community social on December 11th from 5–6 pm, right before our final meeting of the year, 6 to 8pm. We’ll have a potato bar, and everyone is welcome to stop in and share a simple meal together.

The open house went great and now we are in the final two hours of this years NSGT. As of 6:27pm tonight we are almost at the 50% mark of our fundraising goal of $10,000 We thank all of the online and offline donors that have made this first year truly great for us and our clients!!!

Tomorrow is the big day! Our first time with NSGT! Please think of us when donating online or offline. The Yreka Food Bank is signed up and registered for North State Giving Tuesday this year!!

Monday 11/24/25 was the Yreka Food Bank Thanksgiving Meal Distribution. For over 40 years we have been able to help those in need at the holidays due to our amazing volunteers and community. This year we were able to assemble 100 meals to distribute per our sign ups.

From 11/17 & 21/2025 The Yreka Food Bank wants to give a massive shoutout to Alysia and Luke at Great Northern Services for all the time, and effort into our partnership this Holiday season.

Saturday 11/15/2025 Was the Yreka Food Banks big prep day for Thanksgiving Meal Distribution that would happen on 11/24/25. JM, Shari, Tim and Penny spent several hours setting up, assembling, and putting together Thanksgiving Meal bags on a nice sunny day.

From 11/26/25 We want to thank the Yreka Life Foursquare Church’s Next Exit Middle School Youth Group and their Youth Leaders John and Jonetta Crovelle for their amazing support of the Yreka Food Bank and our mission.

From 11/14/2025 The Yreka Food Bank wants to thank Yreka Grocery Outlet for all of their support this year, each month. Also we want to thank them for donating paper grocery bags for our Thanksgiving Food distribution and regular operations!

From 11/8/2025 We want to thank the Rotary Club of Montague for another great donation! On a night they supported another group they also supported us by donating all of the recycling they produced that night!

On 11/22/2025 We went and picked up an amazing donation from one of our long standing community partners in the Yreka SDA Church & School. We thank the church for their donations all throughout the year and especially during the holiday season. In total they collected 403.75 lbs of food for us.

We’re excited to announce that the Greenhorn Grange will be participating in the Yreka Holiday Parade this year—our first time back since rechartering!

Public Service Announcement Reminders;  The Yreka Food Bank will be closed Friday 11/28/2025 so volunteers can spend the holiday time with their friends and family.  We will be open again for regular operations on 12/2/2025 at our normally scheduled time.

From 11/13/2025 The YFB crew was able to attend another CA state OCPSC zoom meeting. It was great to talk with assistance groups from across the north part of the state and informative!

From 11/14/2025 Nothing is to unique a donation.. even Nuts! Walnuts to be exact! We thank the Magic Walnut donor, we were able to rehome all of them with clients who came in between 11/14 and 11/21.

We are extremely grateful to Fairchild Medical Center and all the staff across all their Yreka locations On 11/17/25 volunteers of the YFB coordinated with FMC Administration and Staff to pick up the first round of their canned food drive for the Yreka Food Bank.

On the evening of November 18th Our Executive Director and another Board Member, per invitation, attended the meeting of the Rotary Club of Montague. This invitation was extended in recognition of the Yreka Food Banks partnership with Montague Rotary during their annual Balloon Fair.
