The store was out of the chili garlic sauce I've been buying. When I got home, this is what I found in the bottom of my bag. Evidently, the idea of going without sent me into a bit of an emotional tailspin. 🍜

I grew up eating bread from Brother Juniper's bakery. I remember being appalled as a teenager that it cost $1.79 per loaf. But Stuan Bread was absolutely the best, my favorite. I don't remember where I got this recipe (it was pre-Internet days) but it's from Peter Reinhart.

Now, I usually bring tomatoes (cut or whole, sometimes peeled sometimes not) to a boil, place them pint canning jars, and store them in the freezer for soups, stews, and salsa. Sometimes I make cooked salsa and freeze that in half pint jars. No need to can them in a water bath.

I was going to say Fat, Salt, and Ketchup. Also Butter, Cream, and Salt and Pepper.
