My favourites since the first play are Everyday Is Yours To Win and That Someone Is You. Perhaps tonight I'll get some more favourites. The compression/limiting is on the aggressive side but at least the EQ is agreeable.

Felt like time to give this another go. I found side 1 unremarkable first go but part of side 2 stunned me.

A reminder that one winner crossed the line unconcious. There's a documentary about this event on Netflix. Strongly recommended.

A couple of late evening 12" #WeekendSingles. The Junior 12" is from the first release before it found its definitive American Remix. Walking On Sunshine was remixed by Scott Litt who was involved with R.E.M. production for a bit.

Two 12" #WeekendSingles. The bass line selling me Heavy Vibes and the 12" mix of First Picture is lovely.

Bonus #WeekendSingles. Los Palmas has spoken intro in Spanish, the "I'd like to introduce you to..." section edited out & replaced by a later part of the track then back to normal. B-side probably doesn't run to locked groove. NW5 is about b-side for me. My copy has misted from original PVC outer.

A replay of the Otis Leaville a-side as one channel was missing from where the cart didn't quite connect when it was put back on after the Lewis 45. Playing it now I much preferred it without the string arrangement in the left channel. Funny how much things can change the feel of a track.

Today's #WeekendSingles include a lovely but very much reggae condition Hopeton Lewis 45 and a German press Madness single I checked out in case it had the Geffen mix of Nightboat but actually has the UK promo mix of Don't Quote Me On That on the b-side. Starting top left, the clockwise, etc.

The waterfall looks like white chiffon.

Looks close enough to be worth a try. Initial electrical success is based on two factors: 1) Nothing catches fire; 2) Nobody dies. I'll settle for number two to begin with and hope to quickly progress to number one, followed by it doing the job I bought it to do. But, yes, number two first.

I saw Badly Drawn Boy on the tour with this album: one of my favourite gigs. Andy Rourke was on bass! This is an album which is nearly loopable: the end of the second to last track ends the same way as the first track begins.

Hybrid press. Side 1 cut at PYE, side 2 not. Musically quite different to the previous album.

Now on the LP version of Crimson & Clover with the later added guitar solo section that comes in at a different pitch and edits back out again to the original pitch.

South African compilation. Tequila is in mono but at some point has been played back on a stereo head. The channel balance leans to either side. Now on Whiter Shade of Pale which is either fake stereo or heavily biased to the right. Not nice!

Vacuum motor for Pro-ject VC-E. I have been quoted £150 for a replacement from the UK distributor! Ouch. Must be a way to get one without at least one middleman.

Shame Microsoft are closing their SMS app for Android. I found it much tidier than Google.

Well it makes the prospect of The Man Machine exciting: it's not even my favourite Kraftwerk album but I feel that may suit a spacial mix the most.

Now to try front left and right of at least one of the surround feeds. The sub may be fed to L+R so it may sound less thin than otherwise. Atmos mix downmixed to stereo sounded significantly more bassy than the 5.1 rendered from Atmos downmixed to stereo. How interesting I am.

I'm wondering if there was a bass cut on the UK PSB 12" as way back a friend had a German cut where the uuurrrrrRRRR bit after "still don't understand" was difficult to play through because of the huge amount of bass on it. Sounds like there's an EQ hole on this 12" and no difficult rumbling.

12" #WeekendSingles. The Morgan McVey 12" has what became Buffalo Stance on b-side but it's called Looking Good Diving With The Wild Bunch Featuring Neneh Cherry. PSB remix first heard played by David 'Kid' Jensen on the Network Chart (with Nescafé!). Didn't know it wasn't the regular 12" mix then.

I've just found out that Jackie Lee is the same Jacky that recorded White Horses!

Bonus round of #WeekendSingles. A cover version of Rupert was on the first record I ever had, given to me for either birthday or Christmas by my gran and granddad.

I think this is could be the first time I've played the Keane 45 through this phono pre-amp and speakers, which I've had for *a while*. Always cool to hear more of what was already contained in the groove the whole time.

Good morning! Today's #WeekendSingles play pile includes the original indie release of Radio Africa by Latin Quarter which contains a unique version of the song. On the b-side is an early version of eventual album track Eddie which I really like. Starting top left then clockwise, playing both sides.

Haven't had surround set up for some time. So it's the Atmos downmixed to stereo for me, or front left & right as a stereo pair. Both could be interesting.

A shame the first album didn't get the same treatment and if Diamond had been better received, who knows, maybe it would have.

The 4 x 12" version of Spandau's Diamond album. The first five tracks in extended form, the last three stand alone (rather than segued) and apparently a bit longer and some SFX missing in at least one of them. Lots of space in the box: room for individual outer sleeves originally? A frilly shirt?

Brilliant.

Managed to get into this bad boy today - and managed to put it back together! There's not much more I can investigate in terms of the really noisy vibrations when it warms up a bit other than taking the motor apart which I'm not in a hurry to do!

The hope that a package will arrive tomorrow vs seeing the vendor uses Whistl and it doesn't even look like it has been picked up yet.

Good album opener but this set doesn't go in the direction suggested by the end of the first album.
