The Spaniel is four today. We got him around 2 years ago and he's been joyful and ridiculous. We love him being around.

My dad announced to me today that he'd bought his last car (due to his age). I suggested it would only have been more grim had it been a large black estate.

It's rare for me to play from digital files on the main stereo, but I picked up an album released only as digital so it's nice that there's at least some semblance of physical media with there being a slowly flashing light on the USB stick.

The bonus "can I fit these in before lunch" round of #WeekendSingles. The Talk Talk promo is slightly shorter than the commercial single but plays slower so it has around the same play time. A product of Mark Hollis' personality or coincidence - who knows?

I think mono is the way to go with this, that said Goin' Back despite its wide stereo and slight distortion sounds beautiful and big near the end.

Picked up a cheap tatty copy of Dusty Springfield Golden Hits, yesterday. Fake stereo on I Only Want To Be With You isn't a great start and it strangely gave the impression of the clicks being largely mixed to the right what with them not being masked by the higher frequencies.

Just carelessly said the word "dinner" to The Spaniel and I may have set off an alarm four hours early.

Interesting for Madness fans & the jazz curious: a seldom heard perspective. Mind you the relaxed approach to research & editing gave a false impression of some awkward silences when it was an edit to music at low level. Or there *were* awkward silences so long you could fit half a song in there.

You do know you can store and play all sorts of audio files on your 'phone, yes? Using a range of software that can organise playlists and show the artwork, yes?

Finished watching a-ha: The Movie tonight. I liked it. If I'd paid a few quid to rent/buy it I could have avoided around 28 mins of ads!

About 29 years ago I wrote the note and started the process but I changed my mind and fortunately was in a situation where I was able to. I have been able to live a functional life and for me it has got easier, with some times of joy and laughter. It seemed utterly impossible some black days. x
