💙📚 Book 44 of 2025: Three Shattered Souls by Mai Corland ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️💫 Have to say, I don't think I enjoyed it as much as the first two, but I think that's just life's fault for being busy and taking ages to read it as a result 😅 fun end to the series nonetheless, keen to see what Mai writes next!

💙📚 Book 43 of 2025: Blood of Hercules by Jasmine Mas ⭐️⭐️⭐️💫 Had fun with this, I liked a lot of the world ideas more than the plot itself, so hoping the sequel (which I'll now have to get on with buying) picks up more of the bits I enjoyed from this one.

💙📚 Belated August Wrap Up Some good picks this month, Sam Holland continues to be brilliantly twisted and Evernight stepped up eith Bat Eater, thoroughly enjoyed it.

Book 42 of 2025: Murder Mindfully by Karsten Dusse ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️💫 Absolutely loved this and it genuinely had some good tips (on mindfulness not murder). I don't know if there's a sequel planned - or already released - but I'd love there to be more. Great as a self-contained story though.

💙📚 Book 41 of 2025: Bat Eater by Kylie Lee Baker ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Enjoyed this one a lot! Pandemic literature seems very hit or miss depending on the approach but thought it really helped set the tone for this whilst exploring a very real problem that stemmed from it.

💙📚 Book 40 of 2025: Alchemy and a Cup of Tea by Rebecca Thorne ⭐️⭐️⭐️💫 Definitely enjoyed the start of the series more than the end, but a fun read nonetheless. Also means my reading goal.for the year is done with 4 months spare! 🥳

Wife and I have gone to see Weapons and Together the last few weeks. Thought Weapons was ace, the tonal whiplash for the last ten minutes was incredible though. Together was also great but nope nope nope hate body horror stuff. Probably The Running Man because Glen Powell rules/is really hot.

💙📚 Book 39 of 2025: The Guest List by Lucy Foley ⭐️⭐️ Had a free trial of BookBeat and this one was on my list anyway so gave it a go as an audiobook, found it super dull. Don't know if it was the narrator choices or if audiobooks just aren't for me full stop, but I think I'll stick to paper 😅

💙📚 Book 38 of 2025: The Countdown Killer by Sam Holland ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️💫 Had to go straight on to finish off the series, just need to track down The Twenty now! Great end to Cara's trilogy, interested to see what's next for all involved!

💙📚 Book 37 of 2025: The Puppet Master by Sam Holland ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Brilliant, dark work once again from Sam, somehow didn't realise I'd missed a book out so I'll have to rectify that but I'm just gonna Power in with The Countdown Killer next!

📚💙 Book 36 of 2025: Clytemnestra by Costanza Casati ⭐️⭐️⭐️ I don't know what I wanted from this book but I didn't get it. Character work helped and the Page and Wick edition is hella pretty so scores in the middle. Need a good crime dose now, that felt a slog to read.

📚💙 Book 35 of 2025: Monk and Robot by Becky Chambers ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ I've wanted to read these novellas for a good while so getting the pair together was a bonus! Felt similar in a way to Project Hail Mary, I could see parallels between Ryland and Rocky and Dex and Mosscap, more philosophical though!

I've never heard of this book but Lilac Library's edition of Terror at the Gates looks absolutely stunning! Might have to keep an eye on this one. 📚💙

I suppose I should actually read some of the Page and Wick editions I've got now they've finally confirmed they're doing sequels for a load of them.

💙📚 Book 34 of 2025: Project Hail Mary by Andy Weir ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Perfection, no notes. Wonderful story, can't wait for the film.

💙📚 1/4 of the way through Project Hail Mary - it's excellent, get on it - and my main take away so far is that Ryan Gosling is just utterly perfect casting for this adaptation. Like, he's gonna nail the vibe so hard.

💙📚 Book 33 of 2025: Hearts That Cut by Kika Hatzopoulou ⭐️⭐️⭐️ Nothing special, I've certainly read worse. I liked some of the themes and ideas but felt the duology handicapped itself by being young adult, there were a lot of bits I'd have explored further or in different ways in an adult setting.

💙📚 June Storygraph wrap-up, huge drop-off post-honeymoon which I think is deserved, although A Drop of Corruption was "end of year list" stuff, so so good. Not really enjoying this duology so need a banger pick for July, recommendations welcomed. Will be kicking off Project Hail Mary next though!

Watching Glastonbury highlights to make up for seemingly being the ONLY PERSON not going to watch Linkin Park today. Not that I'm jealous at all. Nope, couldn't be me.

Most of my timelines in other apps is just Pedro Pascal today and you know what I'm here for it.

I immediately need at least two sequels of Kpop Demon Hunters. Great fun and the songs are absolutely stuck in my head on repeat.

📚💙 Book 32 of 2025: Threads That Bind by Kika Hatzopoulou ⭐️⭐️⭐️💫 Decided to try some of the Fairyloot books my wife has piled up, thought this was destined for a 3⭐️ but it picked up in the second half. Gonna see how the duology finishes next to see out June and start July!

💙📚 Book 31 of 2025: A Drop of Corruption by Robert Jackson Bennett ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ This is likely going to be in my Top 3 for the year when all is said and done, magnificent stuff. Took everything great from The Tainted Cup and wrapped it all up in another delicious mystery. Absolutely loved it.

It would absolutely be a rights nightmare, but I'd absolutely love a TCG card game based on different book series so I could see all my favourite characters face off.

A Drop of Corruption is ABSOLUTELY the tonic I needed book wise, Ana Dolabra may be one of my favourite books characters ever. 💙📚 If it's not already, get The Tainted Cup on your TBR piles (or preferably directly into your hands right now) and play catch up.

Absolutely desperate for some fantasy reads after two weeks of crime paperbacks, gimme some of that sprayed edges hardback goodness.

💙📚 Book 30 of 2025: Conviction by Jack Jordan ⭐️⭐️⭐️ Finished on the plane home to take the honeymoon total up to 8! Sadly guessed the twist shortly before it happened which was a downer, didn't enjoy it as much as Do No Harm. Still addictive to read and got Redemption lined up at some point!

That last book puts me over my target of 6 for this holiday and comfortably well ahead of my target of 40 for the year. Might have to up it to 50 🤔

💙📚 Book 29 of 2025: Mexican Gothic by Silvia Moreno-Garcia ⭐️⭐️⭐️💫 Loved the dark, atmospheric setting for this one, although I can't decide if it needed more or was just enough.

💙📚 Book 28 of 2025: The Perfect Marriage by Jenova Rose ⭐️⭐️⭐️ Gave a second book of hers a shot, but don't think she's for me. Not awful by any means, plot-wise both books have been fine, but the characters are all just too unlikeable for me.

💙📚 Book 27 of 2025: Home Is Where The Bodies Are by Jeneva Rose ⭐️⭐️⭐️ I appreciate this wrapped it up pretty quickly and didn't drag it out for the sake of it but I thought none of the characters were likeable. Still better than the Atlas series.

May Storygraph wrap-up, helped hugely by binging The Thursday Murder Club books within a week. 💙📚

Book 26 of 2025: The Last Devil To Die by Richard Osman ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Was not prepared for the sudden huge upswing in sadness, which was super important, but I think the mystery itself suffered for it. Still awesome though.

Book 25 of 2025: The Bullet That Missed by Richard Osman ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️💫 I'm glad there's a fifth coming because I'm enjoying these too much to be done with the fourth. @richardosman1.bsky.social promise me there's a sixth coming down the line, please.

💙📚 Book 24 of 2025: The Man Who Died Twice by Richard Osman ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Full five from me, loved the spy element and the familiarity with the characters mixed eith the new side cast was superb. On to Book three!

💙📚 Book 23 of 2025: The Thursday Murder Club by Richard Osman ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️💫 I don't know why it took so long to start this series but I'm here now ans loving it. Straight on to Book 2!
