📚 All the GA attentively taking in updates from our colleagues at Boston College on the current cycles of PIRLS. PIRLS 2026 involves 58 education systems. Now a fully digital assessment, this year saw the successful completion of the vital field test, including over 54,000 students!

📅 Next week, the 66th IEA General Assembly (GA) meeting will take place in Madrid. The GA meets annually to review IEA projects and receive reports on various aspects of the association, including current and future studies, membership, and finance.

📕Hot off the press: 'Dinaric Perspectives on PIRLS 2021—Prerequisites and Conditions for Teaching and Learning to Read'

The last preparations for #ECER2025 are underway at the University of Belgrade. We are looking forward to welcoming 454 emerging researchers from 57 countries to the Emerging Researchers' Conference tomorrow and 2617 participants from 73 countries to ECER on Tuesday.

🔦Translating and adapting for educators! Teachers are essential to the work of IEA. To give back, IEA publishes peer-reviewed materials to provide teachers with tools, information, and ideas to implement in the classroom.

🌍 The 2025 edition of IEA's biennial International Research Conference was a great success. More than 250 people travelled from all over the world to join us in Rome!

⛰️'Dinaric Perspectives on TIMSS 2019: Teaching and Learning Mathematics and Science in South-Eastern Europe' brought together national experts from across the Dinaric region to rigorously review grade 4 data from TIMSS 2019, & developed a culturally sensitive perspective on results from the region.

🚀 A key part of IEA's mission is to promote the advancement of research and innovation, and so contribute to quality teaching and learning within and across systems of education.

Last month, IEA was delighted to hear that Prof. Irini Moustaki of the Department of Statistics at the The London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE) was elected a Fellow of the British Academy. The election was in recognition of Irini's contributions to the field of social statistics.
