In 1988, I was able to meet Hal Roach Studios alums George "Spanky" McFarland, Henry Brandon, Rosina Lawrence, Jerry Tucker, and Virginia Karns. Also spent time with Dorothy "Echo" DeBorba, Ernie "Sunshine Sammy" Morrison, and Venice Lloyd, the wife of studio cameraman Art Lloyd. Good times!

As a young performer, I believed that true success was to have your likeness immortalized by Al Hirschfeld. His works perfectly capture the fun, beauty, class, and energy of old Hollywood. When he died in 2003, it signaled the end. No one can be "Golden Age" famous without a Hirschfeld caricature.
