#hobbystreak day 703 Painting is back on the menu! My mojo is back and with it I've started on the next Idoneth unit. The giant Dogfish. Yes they are sharks! Ones which I caught frequently with my dad when I was young and he took me fishing in his boat off the UK's south coast.

#hobbystreak day 701 I think I've painted more in the last 3 days than in the prior 3 weeks! Feels good to make some solid progress! And with tonight, the eels are done! The eels, clearly the horses of the sea, are ready to carry the *nearly* normal elves on top to battle.

#hobbystreak day 699 I've been knocked on my ass by this flu in the UK, so tonight was the first night I had a decent painting session in a while. Finished painting the amour and skin of the eel riders tonight, still need to do red and blue bits before attaching to mounts and a final detail pass.

#hobbystreak day 686 Wow 12 days since my last update! Eell the point of hobbystreak is some progress is better than no progress. Shark is assembled and base is half made. The elves are all sprayed ready to paint and the eels are progressing, just the red and a detail pass and they're done!

#hobbystreak day 674 Ive finished the basecoats for the eels, bar a couple of tiny bits. Decided to focus on just one eel to get a bit of a scheme done. So eel 1 has had its main skin, reds and blues highlighted.

#hobbystreak day 699 Steady progress on the Idoneth. The basing for the eels and the soulscryer is more or less done. Just need to do the fish. The eels themselves are starting to get thier basecoats done, and I assembled the sharks, though that does still need a base doing.

#hobbystreak day 695 The last 3 namarti thralls are painted. Finally finishing the unit, they definitely look good together. Onward to the next unit. The eels are getting their bases done, sand was done first, and now the start to the seaweed 'flying stands'

#hobbystreak day 691 Not much in the way of updates as I've been mostly fixing some old minis and stripping some things ready for new-year new-army. The last week or so, I've finished making my eel riders, minus making some seaweed out of greenstuff for 'flying' stands. And made the mage leader.

#hobbystreak day 685 (yesterday) More progress on the thralls, green copper and skin is done now. Only blue and red left to do! Given the weather, it's time to get ahead on building so I can spray when the weather is good, so tonight I worked on the eels from the set.

Paging all those lovers of weird miniatures. Can anyone help me ID this oddity? First glance, citadel LE 15 warlock. However, they have a clear plastic? glass? bottle that they slot into. The legs have been swapped out with a peg that fits into the bottle. Conversion or rare relic of GW past?

can i pose a question to all the asians who dont play warhammer and the 9 europeans awake that do- so, 3d printings a prevalent thing now and indie creators do make amazing creative sculpts on their own, why then does GW still have SUCH a strong pull? whats the draw to choose GW? genuine question

#hobbystreak 676 2 more Idoneth thralls complete. There was a definite moment of joy sticking these minis on their bases that I generously made & painted months ago! Thanks, past me! Lovely to see the unit coming together, a batch of 3 next and then I can look towards the sharks and eels!

#hobbystreak day 673 (yesterday) I've not had much painting mojo the last few days, but I've managed to do a little more basecoating and get all the green highlighted up. I do like the idoneth, but when I bought them I played AoS regularly. Not so much atm, so the drive to paint them is lower.

#hobbystreak day 669 With no gitz left to paint, it's time to look back at the Idoneth spearhead. I'm 5/10 done on the thralls, with painted bases ready and waiting. Tonight I got most of the basecoats done on the next two.

#hobbystreak day 667 That's 20 more gits done and dusted! Lovely models to speedpaint, they have just the right amount of detail for a horde unit. Also, that brings me back to 0 unpainted gitz and brings my pile of shame under 200!

#hobbystreak day 663 After my first spray and pre-zenithal basecoats, I've zenithalled the stabbas and started applying speedpaints. Doing batches of 20 at a time is a lot, but since they are fully done with speedpaints, progress still feels fast! A 5.5-point goblin only deserves so much effort!

#hobbystreak day 658 Finished off the single Repentia, so now I can field a full unit of 10 should I wish. On to the next oroject: taking a chunk out the pile of shame with a unit of 20 stabbas. I finished assembly today, including some minor kitbashes to make the unit different from my first one.

#hobbystreak day 655 The Loonshrine is finished. Sure, I could do more, but it's more than tabletop ready, and I'm happy. Onto a mini project with 1 sista repentia, I bought a single so my 2 combat patrols worth of repentia can now be a unit of 10!

#hobbystreak day 652 Making steady progress on the loonshrine. It's a huge kit, so even with speedpaints, it takes time to paint. Definitely starting to see it come to life though, which is very satisfying!

#hobbystreak day 646 More slow and steady progress on my hobbydesk Firstly, the Catachan guardsman is now based and complete. Next Ive started on the faction terrain for my gitz, greenstufing and startingbthe pre-zenithal paint. Also made progress on my jump Cannonness basecoats.

#hobbystreak day 642 I've not had a huge amount of painting time the last few days. Decided I needed a bit of a refresh, so I painted a mini from one of my regular side projects, the lava world Catachans. Needs a few details done, but I do enjoy painting the occasional guardsman in this scheme.

#hobbystreak day 639 After yesterday's game vs Dark angels (my first win, a random sister killed the lion with a multi-melta),it's back to AoS! I still have a small backlog of Gitz, not least of which the faction terrain, which is near vital in a Gitz army. Assembly is leaving huge gaps atm!

#hobbystreak day 637 Put the finishing touches onto the paragon warsuits. Just in time to waltz onto the battlefield tomorrow evening! I'm not sure how to best use them, obviously with Vahl, but in reserves? Or is having 1-2 turns without a 5th of your points too much? Start them on the board?

#hobbystreak day 634 Metallics inked and a start on the cabling for the warsuits. Ignoring the completely unpainted superiors face, I'd say we've reached minimum viable product. Still, the devil's in the details, and there's plenty of those left to paint!

#hobbystreak day 632 Still working on the paragons. Most of the basecoats down now. That trim sure was 'fun' but looks good in the end. I've also quickly whipped up the sci-fi urban bases. The aim is to be finished by game night this Friday!

#hobbystreak day 629 Following yesterday's draw (I think I would have won had my opponent not had to leave end of turn 3) my paragon warsuits continue getting thier paint, focusing on the purple tonight. I would have got more done, but I got distracted converting up a jump Cannonness.

#hobbystreak day 627 I have a game tomorrow, my first 2k 40k 10th game! My local game space is hosting a league, so this is my test game before submitting my army list. And then, because I can't bear to play with unpainted minis, I've slapped down the basecoats on the paragon warsuits!

#hobbystreak day 624 I've been assembling the warsuits for my Sisters. Turns out these are challenging builds! It took a while for me to warm to these minis. The posing isn't perfect, and the tabards are oddly static. But action girl in mech suit is such a classic that I can't help but love them!

#hobbystreak day 622 So, technically, my hobbystreak is on pause, but since I was @aireconuk.bsky.social today, I took a break from the @tabletoprescue.bsky.social stall and sat at Two Thin Coats and do some painting. Only for about an hour, but I managed to throw together a quick nmm knight.

#hobbystreak day 621 (yesterday) Apologies for the low photo quality, we're away for a week now, and the hobbystreak is on hiatus. Finished the slinger for the arachnarok. I love how this piece of kit looks, shame it's not meant to be great in game.

#hobbystreak day 619 Managed to stop by a flgs and pick up white spray, so the spider platform is back on the painting block. Zenithalled and most of the speed paints put on, just a few more details, and it's on to the touch-up and details pass!

#hobbystreak day 617 Finished the pre-zenithal basecoats for the arachnarok platform. Unfortunately, I'm out of white spray, so until I hit the shops, it's time to return to my blind wet elves!

Finished the shootas, it's nice to knock 20 minis off the pile of shame! After agonising for a while , I decided to paint my arachnarok's flinger. You don't need to glue it on. It turns your deep striking monster into a mobile artillery piece. Not a good one, but it has some interesting utility.

#hobbystreak day 613 I've now gotten all 20 shootas up to the same standard. Just eyes, teeth, and bases to go. I know they aren't the fanciest models, but it's nice to make some really rapid progress. They have enough detail to evocative, while being easy to paint.

#hobbystreak day 611 The first batch of 7 shootas is essentially done. I just need to do eyes, teeth and bases. The next wave of 7 are basecoated, ready for their zenithal spray. Each wave is taking about 2 hours to do, so around 20 mins a mini, certainly not bad for swarm infantry.

#hobbystreak day 609 Busy few days, the endless spells got finished, and they even debuted in their first game yesterday. Meanwhile, I'm working on the pre-zenithal shading for the shootas, and I've finished painting the Tallard missile trooper.

Some of you may remember that I came upon @anthonybath.bsky.social's classic Tallarn desert raiders army as seen in WD214. Tragically, one of the troops from that White Dwarf photo shoot is awol bar his arm. So I've taken it upon myself to fix up that mistake. Hopefully I'm doing it justice!

#hobbystreak day 604 Some great progress on the endless spells. The moon andushroom are finished, with the cauldron only a few coats behind. The spider swarm I've decided to go with relatively muted colours. I think this will offset my otherwise bright army with a creepy vibe for that one spell.

#hobbystreak day 601 (for yesterday) Finished assembling the unit of 20 shootas. Fear my ineffective shooting that puts a ridiculous amount of control on objectives. Started on the pre-zenithal coats for the endless spells... except the spiders, I can't decide on the colours for the spiders.

#hobbystreak day 599 Assembled and sprayed the endless spells. Before realising how bad those gaps were! Also started on a unit of shootas, it would be nice to have a bit more ranged in my army, and more standard gitz are always great* *ok they're trash, but you can hide fanatics inside.

Is anyone feeling itchy? Finished off the last of the batch of 15 spider riders, so my spiderfang regiment is now complete. A lovely collection of purple people eaters. Hopefully, they don't suffer the newly painted model curse on game night this week!

#hobbystreak day 596 The spider swarms is continuing to grow! Started on the bases this morning while my son had a lie-in. Not much left to do after those, some highlights on small details like eyes and the metallics, maybe another pass on the spears and I'll have 15 new spider riders!

#hobbystreak day 593 Now that the third layer of magos purple is done, the spider riders are really speeding up. Tonight, I got red details on the spiders, goblin skin, and yellow feathers/shields all painted up. The project suddenly feels far more completable!

#hobbystreak day 591 I've been a little quiet of late, batch painting 15 spiders is slow going, especially because magis purple needs 3 coats to look how i like it. Also I've been repairing some penitant engines for a friend. The old metal ones, so lots of drilling and pinning!

#hobbystreak day 586 My hobby desk has been overrun by the scuttletide! While I technically have 2k points of painted gitz now, about 300 points are misc infantry, which don't have the right support. These 15 new spider riders will replace them handily, giving me a 2k list I like!
