#hobbystreak day 882 I only have a few nights left before UKGE & I need to finish this chimera to keep to my 250pts per month target. I may be regretting the addition of the Ogryn crew adding extra details to paint! This month is only such a squeeze because i've also been doing a ton of building!

#hobbystreak day 879 On to painting the next chimera! Also a bit of building, Marbo, plus 5 more troopers. Once I finish this squad I'll have my completely assembled 2k list for my upcoming tournament. Barring 11th edition points changes all I have to do is paint and lots of it!

#hobbystreak day 877 Hades IX didn't always have an ogryn population. When the PDF investigated an abandoned inquisitorial bunker they discovered a captive, stable breeding population of the creatures. Along with a room containing many oversized electrified chairs surrounding regicide boards.

#hobbystreak day 875 Finished off the armour highlights on the Ogryn, and started on the skin, they are closing in on completion now. I was in a building mood this evening, so I magnetised the tripod weapon options for a heavy weapon squad.

#hobbystreak day 874 The first chimera is complete, nice to have some armoured support for my infantry to ride in! Next up are the Ogryn, who have had their guns mostly painted, which does account for a third of the model! Lastly the Vanq is greenstuffed and sprayed. A productive few days!

#hobbystreak day 871 My attention has swung wildly away from my 90% done chimera, to my completely unpainted Ogryns, who now are fully basecoated. Gotta love the big lads. Additionally my vanquisher has had some surgery, swapping old glued heavy bolter sponsons for fresh, magnetised options.

#hobbystreak day 869 The Catachan Lord Solar proxy is complete and ready to be sprayed. Made by kitbashing the catachan colonel with Ogryn sprue spares and a scar veteran on aggradon. With some minor green stuffing to finish off. The trick is any army can have dinosaurs if you try hard enough!

#hobbystreak day 867 I'm meant to be painting. So anyway, here's my Catachan lord Solar proxy. Still needs plenty of refining, but it's mostly there. Not sure if its quite the right size, may need to investigate in tactical rocks!

#hobbystreak day 866 I've been busy neatening up the chimera's camo and highlighting orange. I've signed up to my clubs 11th edition learning tourney! My first tourney, and I hope to bring guard. But to do that I need to paint 1000 points in 2 months... That's double my current rate!

#hobbystreak day 864 Everything for this month is built and sprayed. Tonight I sat down for a big painting session and got chimera 1 mostly basecoated. Feels like good progress!

#hobbystreak day 862 Those chimeras don't build themselves! About a third of the time is sorting the magnatisation. The finished one has swappable turret & front guns and hunter killer is detachable. The other chimera will be for the ogryn, who are modeled using the tank's firing deck!

#hobbystreak day 860 A new month so onto the next 250 points. This month: 3 ogryn and 2 chimeras. I've made the Ogryn and seeing them in the back of a half built chimera, yeah I can see how 3 can squeeze into it. Oh, and have some 1k army photos, pretty happy with the look of them!

#hobbystreak day 858 The leman rus commander is finished. I only finished the plasma and spotlight this evening, but I took some photos in the light earlier. That brings my guard army to 1000 points! Half way there! Next month, Ogryns!!!

#hobbystreak day 856 Down to the last few details on the leman russ commander. Edges need highlighting on the hull/turrets, the commanders need their eyes done and plasma options remain depressingly unglowey! Im hoping I can finish them tomorrow!

#hobbystreak day 850 Had a decent painting sessions tonight, mostly focused of the Russes' guns. Since Im being a good girl and painting all the options at once this is taking a long time! Definitely starting to look more like the finished product now... if you ignore the unpainted crew!

#hobbystreak day 847 Plodding along with the Leman Russ. Orange is done bar edge highlighting, which is honestly 70% of the painting work. However I am definitely distracted after my Old World game, so I honour of my heroic gyrocopter, I've assembled a second, this one the 1st model from the 80s.

#hobbystreak day 844 Today I played Old World. Wow. That was feeling that wargaming gave me when I was young. Cannons exploded, gyrocopters charged down necromancers, slayers slew, a lucky overrun gave a unit of grave guard a sweeping flank charge. My dwarfs lost, but I won.

#hobbystreak day 839 A bit of a lull in my hobby mono, but still making progress. The russ hull and turrets gave thier first layers of camo applied. I've also been doing a bit of a clean up and sort through my pile of shame. Can't deny those oldhammer dwarfs are calling me!

#hobbystreak day 836 Finished up the Russ' second turret with all 4 weapons. Decided this commander will get the old 'drive me closer, I want to hit them with my sword!' pose! A classic 40k meme! That means the tank is fully magnetised with all options... bar a hunter killer. Time to paint!

#hobbystreak day 833 Fully magnetised and drilled barrels on the demolisher turret options for the leman russ commander. Still have the other turret to make, but it's already tons of options. So I decided to get them sprayed up so the painting can start. The other turret can be another project.

#hobbystreak day 831 If you want to get your money worth on a leman russ then magnetise it! Its taken me several nights and I've not finished building! The tank commander has been converted up and the demolisher turret options are all built, even if only the executioner plasma cannon has magnets!

#hobbystreak day 829 Spent the evening building a russ, including magnetised front guns. Not that you'd ever use anything but the lascannon, given no points costs for weapons. Plus they friction fit anyway... I'm sure it was time well spent!

#hobbystreak day 827 That's the Hellhound complete! I've magnetised the front weapons and painted all of those too, plus the spare heavy flamer for my basalisk. Next month I only have a tank commander to build and paint, so I'll catch up with the unpainted options for the hellhound and sentinels.

#hobbystreak day 825 The hellhound is approaching completion. The black needs highlights, the orange needs edge highlights. Then the myriad of cables, sensors, and doohickeys will need picking out. So not much left, very nice progress in 2 days of not very intense painting.

#hobbystreak day 823 Progressing on the hellhound, I've given it a more directional diamondish pattern, think I'm a fan. Struggling a bit to sit down for longer painting sessions, but a bit of paint a day grows the army!

#hobbystreak day 820 The mortar teams are finished. Some light artillery to pester my opponents home objective holders. Each team has a firer and a 'specialist'. A loader, a spotter, and a guard. I do feel I could have done more on the bases to make them more like mini dioramas.

#hobbystreak day 819 More progress on the mortar teams. Unsurprisingly quicker to paint than the rough riders! Closing in on the camo pattern and final details now before I can get them on their tree bases.

Its been a long while since I've had a big shopping spree for new models, but the Hades IX 3rd regiment needs reinforcements. When the imperium asks for its tithe you don't say no! From left to right a unit of ogryns, lord solar, 2 chimeras and a leman russ tank commander.

#hobbystreak day 816 The rough riders are finished! Absolutely loved this kitbash and paint job, though they took a long time for a cheap unit! Treated myself to a quick army shot (560pts) and then got going on the mortar teams. Unsurprisingly these are noticeably quicker to paint!

#hobbystreak day 814 Back from airecon, which was great, and back at the painting table. The rough riders are almost done now, got the claws and spikes done, along with some smaller details. Just the camo pattern on the soldiers as the last major painting focus.

#hobbystreak day 812 Im off on a work trip now, so hobbystreak takes a break. Im doing well on this month's catachans. Rough riders are 90% done, just some highlights and details to go. Mortars have painted bases and a bit of basecoating, probably 20% done. Hellhound... 0%

#hobbystreak day 809 Its easy to feel like the progress is slowed when you spend 2 days doing bases. I guess I'm a bit aware that I've got a lot to finish in a month I'm away for a week! Lucky I do hobbystreak and can look back to.a few days ago and see these dino riders progressing nicely!

#hobbystreak day 806 I've been busy basecoating away a mix of the mortar teams and the rough riders. I may have gotten a little distracted and highlighted up the majority of the mounts for the rough riders. Im going to argue it was needed before basecoating the leather straps!

#hobbystreak day 803 Its a new month, so I've been busy assembling the next 250 points of guard for my new year project. This month it's a hellhound, a unit of rough riders and a heavy weapon squad with mortars. Hopefully providing a nice combination of long and short ranged support.

#hobbystreak day 801 Spent the last two nights putting far too much effort into 60 points of rough riders. There's no way a Catachan would ride a horse. You can't keep them alive on a death world! They need a mount as ferocious as predatory as thier home planet. A giant Raptor.

#hobbystreak day 799 The Hades 9th has a new sentinel today, this one with plasma cannon and tactical rock. Sentinels and basalisks aren't the heaviest guard vehicles, but it feels good having some armoured support for my infantry platoon. My guard collection is starting to feel like an army!

#hobbystreak day 794 Put the finishing touches to the basalisk for the Hades IX 3rd regiment. Though I may go back with transfers one day. Adding the crew does a lot for this tank, a tiny little diorama on the back. One more sentinel to go by the end of the month and I'm on target!

#hobbystreak day 788 (yesterday) Putting down the camo pattern for the basalisk. Still needs one more layer of wild rider red before I can start on the troll slayer orange. Always nice to see the camo come to life!

#hobbystreak day 786 Put the finishing touches on the scout sentinel today. It was a very happy moment to out the kitbashed catachan crew inside. I've also started on the basalisk. Blocking out the red and silver areas to get a feel for the model before starting the camo patterns.

#hobbystreak day 782 More work on the sentinel. Bases are done for both, and sentinel 1 is almost finished. Pretty much just the crewman, the little pack of gear and a few little details to finish it up. Maybe a highlight for the silver too.

#hobbystreak day 780 This month the guard armyngets some armouredcsupport, with 2 sentinels and a Basalisk. They are all constructed and undercoated, some sentinel 1 is getting painted to test the camo design. I think it's successfully obscuring the shape of it already!

#hobbystreak day 745 Finished the last of the catachan infantry squad and command squad, so now the army is up to 250 points! Should be enough infantry to make a good start to a guard army, next month I'll change to get some armour to support them!

#hobbystreak day 740 Finished up the second squad of Catachans for the lava guard regiment. Up to two squads complete now and a whopping 120 points of painted guard! Due to my mass batch painting though, the next 130 points should only be days from completion!

#hobbystreak day 738 Still painting up that massive Catachan batch. I've had to split up the batch a little as i've got 2 different skin tones to paint synthetic Caucasian half are now done. After that it's just eyes, then camo patterns on cloth and they're done!

Once again my google-fu fails me. Can anyone identify this orc? Was in a box of classic blood bowl, but has some 40k looking parts? Metal miniature fyi

#hobbystreak day 731 More work on the Hades IX 3rd Regiment 1st infantry platoon. All the basecoats are down so we're in highlight town! Orange vests are done and I'm starting on the red weapons next. I love seeing these come together. The Lt is especially standing out with his bright armour!
