#hobbystreak day 788 (yesterday) Putting down the camo pattern for the basalisk. Still needs one more layer of wild rider red before I can start on the troll slayer orange. Always nice to see the camo come to life!

#hobbystreak day 786 Put the finishing touches on the scout sentinel today. It was a very happy moment to out the kitbashed catachan crew inside. I've also started on the basalisk. Blocking out the red and silver areas to get a feel for the model before starting the camo patterns.

#hobbystreak day 782 More work on the sentinel. Bases are done for both, and sentinel 1 is almost finished. Pretty much just the crewman, the little pack of gear and a few little details to finish it up. Maybe a highlight for the silver too.

#hobbystreak day 780 This month the guard armyngets some armouredcsupport, with 2 sentinels and a Basalisk. They are all constructed and undercoated, some sentinel 1 is getting painted to test the camo design. I think it's successfully obscuring the shape of it already!

#hobbystreak day 745 Finished the last of the catachan infantry squad and command squad, so now the army is up to 250 points! Should be enough infantry to make a good start to a guard army, next month I'll change to get some armour to support them!

#hobbystreak day 740 Finished up the second squad of Catachans for the lava guard regiment. Up to two squads complete now and a whopping 120 points of painted guard! Due to my mass batch painting though, the next 130 points should only be days from completion!

#hobbystreak day 738 Still painting up that massive Catachan batch. I've had to split up the batch a little as i've got 2 different skin tones to paint synthetic Caucasian half are now done. After that it's just eyes, then camo patterns on cloth and they're done!

#hobbystreak day 731 More work on the Hades IX 3rd Regiment 1st infantry platoon. All the basecoats are down so we're in highlight town! Orange vests are done and I'm starting on the red weapons next. I love seeing these come together. The Lt is especially standing out with his bright armour!

ID request: Does anyone knoww what tank this is/is meant to be? As far as I can tell it's some deathguard conversion? But I don't know my horus heresy and marine tanks that well, especially as its come from a source known to have forgeworld bits.

#hobbystreak day 729 Continued work on the Emporer's finest. Brown boots and bags, along with a coat of black for trousers and jackets. Batch painting this large a group is strangely therapeutic, I only manage one colour a session, but it really feels like the army is marching to completion.

#hobbystreak day 727 More work on the 'Flaming Third' guard regiment. Need to come up with a name for thier lava planet one day... Squad 1 is complete, and I've started batch painting 26 more infantry; squads 2, 3, and a command squad. Should give me a full platoon as a base for my army.

#hobbystreak day 726 The first 5 catachans for my new year new army project are done. 5 more are nearing completion, hopefully to be finished tonight. Plenty more to do though, 3 more full squads and a command squad to try and finish by the end of Jan!

#hobbystreak day 720 The busyness of the holidays has stopped me updating, but not painting. First the Idoneth Spearhead is complete. Always a treat to finish a project, even if they took too long. Now it's new-year new-army time with the lava world catachan. Starting with 35 infantry this month!

#hobbystreak day 707 Making steady progress on the giant Dogfish. More or less done now, mostly base details and a bit of touching up to go. That will leave me with the 2 crew and the mage left to finish the spearhead!

#hobbystreak day 703 Painting is back on the menu! My mojo is back and with it I've started on the next Idoneth unit. The giant Dogfish. Yes they are sharks! Ones which I caught frequently with my dad when I was young and he took me fishing in his boat off the UK's south coast.

#hobbystreak day 701 I think I've painted more in the last 3 days than in the prior 3 weeks! Feels good to make some solid progress! And with tonight, the eels are done! The eels, clearly the horses of the sea, are ready to carry the *nearly* normal elves on top to battle.

#hobbystreak day 699 I've been knocked on my ass by this flu in the UK, so tonight was the first night I had a decent painting session in a while. Finished painting the amour and skin of the eel riders tonight, still need to do red and blue bits before attaching to mounts and a final detail pass.

#hobbystreak day 686 Wow 12 days since my last update! Eell the point of hobbystreak is some progress is better than no progress. Shark is assembled and base is half made. The elves are all sprayed ready to paint and the eels are progressing, just the red and a detail pass and they're done!

#hobbystreak day 674 Ive finished the basecoats for the eels, bar a couple of tiny bits. Decided to focus on just one eel to get a bit of a scheme done. So eel 1 has had its main skin, reds and blues highlighted.

#hobbystreak day 699 Steady progress on the Idoneth. The basing for the eels and the soulscryer is more or less done. Just need to do the fish. The eels themselves are starting to get thier basecoats done, and I assembled the sharks, though that does still need a base doing.

#hobbystreak day 695 The last 3 namarti thralls are painted. Finally finishing the unit, they definitely look good together. Onward to the next unit. The eels are getting their bases done, sand was done first, and now the start to the seaweed 'flying stands'

#hobbystreak day 691 Not much in the way of updates as I've been mostly fixing some old minis and stripping some things ready for new-year new-army. The last week or so, I've finished making my eel riders, minus making some seaweed out of greenstuff for 'flying' stands. And made the mage leader.

Paging all those lovers of weird miniatures. Can anyone help me ID this oddity? First glance, citadel LE 15 warlock. However, they have a clear plastic? glass? bottle that they slot into. The legs have been swapped out with a peg that fits into the bottle. Conversion or rare relic of GW past?

#hobbystreak day 673 (yesterday) I've not had much painting mojo the last few days, but I've managed to do a little more basecoating and get all the green highlighted up. I do like the idoneth, but when I bought them I played AoS regularly. Not so much atm, so the drive to paint them is lower.

#hobbystreak day 669 With no gitz left to paint, it's time to look back at the Idoneth spearhead. I'm 5/10 done on the thralls, with painted bases ready and waiting. Tonight I got most of the basecoats done on the next two.

#hobbystreak day 667 That's 20 more gits done and dusted! Lovely models to speedpaint, they have just the right amount of detail for a horde unit. Also, that brings me back to 0 unpainted gitz and brings my pile of shame under 200!

#hobbystreak day 663 After my first spray and pre-zenithal basecoats, I've zenithalled the stabbas and started applying speedpaints. Doing batches of 20 at a time is a lot, but since they are fully done with speedpaints, progress still feels fast! A 5.5-point goblin only deserves so much effort!

#hobbystreak day 658 Finished off the single Repentia, so now I can field a full unit of 10 should I wish. On to the next oroject: taking a chunk out the pile of shame with a unit of 20 stabbas. I finished assembly today, including some minor kitbashes to make the unit different from my first one.

#hobbystreak day 642 I've not had a huge amount of painting time the last few days. Decided I needed a bit of a refresh, so I painted a mini from one of my regular side projects, the lava world Catachans. Needs a few details done, but I do enjoy painting the occasional guardsman in this scheme.

#hobbystreak day 639 After yesterday's game vs Dark angels (my first win, a random sister killed the lion with a multi-melta),it's back to AoS! I still have a small backlog of Gitz, not least of which the faction terrain, which is near vital in a Gitz army. Assembly is leaving huge gaps atm!

#hobbystreak day 637 Put the finishing touches onto the paragon warsuits. Just in time to waltz onto the battlefield tomorrow evening! I'm not sure how to best use them, obviously with Vahl, but in reserves? Or is having 1-2 turns without a 5th of your points too much? Start them on the board?

#hobbystreak day 634 Metallics inked and a start on the cabling for the warsuits. Ignoring the completely unpainted superiors face, I'd say we've reached minimum viable product. Still, the devil's in the details, and there's plenty of those left to paint!

#hobbystreak day 632 Still working on the paragons. Most of the basecoats down now. That trim sure was 'fun' but looks good in the end. I've also quickly whipped up the sci-fi urban bases. The aim is to be finished by game night this Friday!

#hobbystreak day 629 Following yesterday's draw (I think I would have won had my opponent not had to leave end of turn 3) my paragon warsuits continue getting thier paint, focusing on the purple tonight. I would have got more done, but I got distracted converting up a jump Cannonness.

#hobbystreak day 627 I have a game tomorrow, my first 2k 40k 10th game! My local game space is hosting a league, so this is my test game before submitting my army list. And then, because I can't bear to play with unpainted minis, I've slapped down the basecoats on the paragon warsuits!

#hobbystreak day 624 I've been assembling the warsuits for my Sisters. Turns out these are challenging builds! It took a while for me to warm to these minis. The posing isn't perfect, and the tabards are oddly static. But action girl in mech suit is such a classic that I can't help but love them!
