Sometimes you just need to spin a cool record.

People literally don’t know how to function as an adult.

When you finally got the bathroom repainted in ‘24 (after a couple of years of your partner talking about it), and you decorated it with a pastel you made in 1989 (that hasn’t been hung up anywhere since ‘07).

Playing some of President Carter’s favorite music, off a record I’ve owned since he was in office.

When the old dog sleeps through the night, and then comes in and goes right to her breakfast. ❤️

Seeing someone slip hard in Alzheimer’s, who two years ago was alert and supportive and now isn’t sure what’s up from moment to moment (and is not going gently into it); sometimes it’s hard not to wish for a stop in their sleep, when it really gets worse.

There’s nothing more exhausting than “an old dude with nothing better to do”. The world is not here to entertain you; read a book, practice your hobby, and/or actually retire (and then leave the job to the people who actually need the money, vs a well off boomer). Volunteer elsewhere.
