It's time to say YES to more housing and development in Wellington 🏘️🏡

For far too many people, Wellington simply isn’t an affordable place to live. To turn this around, Wellington needs more homes and a culture of ‘yes’ in the Council that backs development, along with investment in social housing and office conversions 🏡🏘️

I've been reflecting on the week's ugly revelations in the Wellington local body campaign

When the current Coalition Government asked for input into their investment plans through a potential city deal... the Council didn’t reply. Wellington is the capital. Our Council needs a professional and mutually respectful relationship with central government, whichever parties are in the Beehive.

If I'm elected as Mayor we will not be selling Wellington City Council's airport shares ✈️✈️✈️

So many Wellingtonians have told me they want to save the Begonia House. In the context of the Council’s nearly $5 billion capital budget over the next 10 years, doing so is a drop in the bucket 🌹

Last year Wellington City Council proposed cuts to pool hours in Karori, Tawa and Thorndon and at most suburban libraries. Community facilities are the heart of our city. They should be a priority for Council, and if I'm elected mayor they will be again 📚🤿
