I just finished watching Train Dreams (2025) and I was so deeply moved by it. What a special film.

I've been watching One Piece this week! I tried to watch it a few years ago, but stopped just after Usopp joined the crew, as it wasn't clicking for me. Well, I've picked it back up and I'm glad I did. It's such good fun! I'm up to Drum Island and I'm eager to see what's in store and what's next.

I’m off to see Fit For An Autopsy tonight. It got me wondering: Do you listen to the artist during the lead up to their show (eg. one week) or do you refrain from listening to them? I choose the latter. I feel the songs hit harder live when you’ve not heard them in a hot minute.

I was able to check out Chainsaw Man - The Movie: Reze Arc over the weekend and it was just stellar. The story hooked me in; the new and returning characters were fun; and the music slapped. MAPPA seriously outdid themselves with the animation, too. Incredible.

I miss the PS2/Xbox era of Mortal Kombat. The games were flawed as hell, but I still enjoyed them and the story didn't feel like a Marvel film. Deception, in particular, was absolutely incredible, with its open-world story mode and chess and Tetris minigames. Just awesome.

Looking forward to the Game Awards later today. A good mix of celebration, anticipation and cringe. Love it. My GOTY is probably Expedition 33. I suspect it'll win that award, too. I just hope it doesn't overwhelm the other categories, as there are a lot of good games that deserve some love, too.

As great as my last visit to the US was, I had the unfortunate experience of being detained upon entry, during which I had to hand over my phone. They went through my recent photos, app activity and messages, searching for certain terms and whatever else. It fucking sucked. Holiday somewhere else.

The best film I saw this year was Frankenstein and the worst was A Minecraft Movie. I only watched A Minecraft Movie because a friend had downloaded an unfinished version that turned it into an unintentionally funny fever dream.

Ugh. I think that’s just killed it for me. I can’t sit through the awkwardness a third time. What a shame.

Having a lot of fun with Dispatch. The story and characters are engaging; the animation is gorgeous; and the gameplay doesn't feel "thrown in". All episodes are out, so I recommend picking it up naaaoowww.

Completed another "No Vigour" run on Elden Ring last night, this time, with no summons or Spirit Ashes. Absolutely infuriating at times, but so rewarding. I LOVE this game. Now for the DLC... 💀

Spent my last day in Tasmania going for lunch in Richmond and then up Mt. Wellington in the afternoon. It even snowed. What a send-off.

This was fantastic. We went down to Hastings Caves and explored part of Newdegate Cave.

Walking around Russell Falls in Tasmania with Greg. It was flowing nicely due to recent downpour. There was also a friendly Pademelon with a joey in her pouch.

I’ve put on a few kilos recently and my arse doesn’t know what it wants to do. One cheek is shaped like a watermelon and the other a bun.

The scariest game I’ve ever played is actually a mod for Half-Life 2 called Underhell. The atmosphere it creates is super unsettling; exploring the house and its mysteries is both creepy and engaging; and the scares are so genuinely shocking that just recalling them makes me hesitant to revisit it.

Oh, man. I've never felt more embarrassed liking video games (IYKYK).
