We socialize and act in the world as players: organize, engage in activism, work to inspire other voters, help them to register to vote, donate to campaigns and to causes, work for causes, even volunteer for causes, and run for office, and so on.

We create art: make inspiring and/or informative videos, drawings, paintings, writings, literature, sculptures, songs.

We speak: engage or persuade our fellows, organize our voices, and converse with officials. We write, message, post, text, and call: express ourselves; organize our voices; petition; and write and call public officials, news organizations, companies, our fellow citizens and beyond.

We also eat and drink: use our agency as consumers together to influence economics and politics. We sit: engage in organized civil dis- obedience and contentiously object. We walk: organize and march, demonstrate, and protest.

and yet voting can help to fuel our many other powers...

2 So, what can the individual do with their perspective and voice? Voting, a sacred rite in democracy, is not the one thing that we can do as citizens to flex our power. Voting is our first fundamental power, like breathing, which we must always use; however, it isn't the pinnacle of our power,

Yet, if we succeed, then we shall validate every soul and give new life to the legacies of our ancestors, ourselves, our loved ones, and all of posterity.

If, in this quest, we fail, then we squander the lives of every soldier, every leader, every hero, heroine, philosopher, artist, genius, drudge, every man, woman, and child ever to take a breath of life, and we would allow them to disappear into eternal darkness.

Can any meaning of life hold more relevance than to live and, in so living, to thrive?

so together as living beings from the planet Earth let us aid each other in our existence.

On Earth, life has reproduced itself over and over for billions of years, and it continues today, an obvious statement that life from the planet Earth wants to exist and to persist throughout time,

Rise above warring among ourselves, for, unless in intercepting or dire, honest, and direct self-defense or in intercepting or dire, honest, and direct defense of the vulnerable, war betrays life and immortality —that which is immortal.

Life overall strives for immortality via reproduction, and, as far as we know, life from planet Earth’s best chance at immortality lives in the intellect of human beings. However, for us to succeed together, we need to compliment our technology with this sense of common spirit and spirituality.

From these questions, one can deduce the purpose of humankind relates closely to our ability to work together to keep the species alive. Every human being might not consciously believe this, but all life (human and nonhuman) on Earth has this unconsciously encoded into the fabric of their beings.

The question holds value for our entire species. If we don't endure, perhaps we'll make for interesting archeological digs for another species in the future of this planet, or elsewhere. Yet, do we want only that—to spend all of this time, effort, and emotion just to leave behind fossils and relics?

So, what point does a life (here for only a few frames of infinity and physically meaningless upon death but for the offspring it leaves behind, the fuel or device it becomes, and/or the mark it leaves on others and on the Earth) have? Again, what point does a life have?

A human being among other human beings has, however, not only the hope of leaving behind messages, but in most cases also the reasonable hope of leaving behind living pieces of themselves that just might live forever: their tree of descendants.

Perhaps they (and we) could leave behind some symbolic art to speak to an intelligent race that may tread the same grounds one day — hardly a reassuring prospect by itself.

As well, one human being living on Earth—if simply no other human being existed—would survive for some number of years and then die, taking along the last vestiges of human life as the cosmos continued to function.

also, we must care for a great diversity of human beings so that one practice, pathogen, or catastrophe cannot exploit a weakness in us all.

Life feeds upon other life forms because life reigns as the ultimate renewable resource. We need other organisms to sustain our existence; thus, we must care for a great diversity of life so that one practice, pathogen, or catastrophe cannot exploit a weakness in us all;

A human being cannot live utterly alone.

And, so far, nearly all of our old practices and paradigms have proven themselves inept in our quest. So, today, let us begin anew.

We do not exist here to have what we wrongly refer to as “races” of people race to beat each other; we all belong to the human race, and we race to beat the extinction of life itself, as our prime quest, or else all of life from Earth (an impermanent planet) likely dies out.

Diversity is, in fact, the path to ALL of our best. Diversity does not restrict us, unlike, for instance, ol’-boys’ clubs do by definition.

make the entire human tribe’s survival our chief mechanism, in order to give the future of the human race its best shot at survival.

However, now that we recognize this modus operandi, and now that our society has become interwoven globally, we need to think bigger, take our survival instincts one notch further, see the similarity in all human beings, understand the entire race to be our family (our tribe) and

and because those extremely well-off families’ survival instincts (like all families’ survival instincts) taught them to protect the vitality of their genes; also, the resources enabled them to protect the vitality of their genes with great, ever-tightening efficiency.

We protect the lineage of our close friends and family members (our tribe), and society as a whole serves to protect the lineage and the well-beings of a select few extremely well-off families or family lines because of a long human history of antidemocratic rule, rule by a few,

and, in part, we favor people similar to ourselves as a survival mechanism. Across the whole of human history, dominance for survival has made us think small.

We have tribal origins. We find comfort in people who look similar to us and who hold similar beliefs and customs to ours, for, in part, many of us have inferiority complexes masquerading as superiority complexes that tell us our group’s ways must have intrinsically better value than others',

In besting such adversaries, any wellspring of life benefits in resilience and resistance by having great diversity (eggs not all in one basket, like a sound investment portfolio or ag plan) in its gene pool, physical places of habitation, sources of sustenance, cultural lifestyles, and practices.

Thus, a social organization of beings that places great importance on such details holds a unique promise for life to overcome adversities as small as disease and infertility and as great as supervolcanoes, asteroids, a dying sun, black holes, and intergalactic collisions.

Eternity just might befriend that species’ order, and a civilization with eternity on its side has no limit to its advancement, achievement, understanding, and wisdom.

then think of what the future will hold for the order of a species with both instinct and intellect, and which consciously fights, evades, and outwits the forces of extinction.

If a biological order such as the Odonata, as just one example, can persist for hundreds of millions of years— as many orders have— virtually by chance and instinct alone,

Intelligence can produce creativity, language, reflection, invention, and onward, and these can allow life to skip along at will to other planets, solar systems, and galaxies, when our present ones become endangered.

for the forces of destruction and extinction come from every conceivable source and direction in the cosmos.

Typically, life persists instinctively, but intelligent life can also do this intentionally, thoughtfully, and systematically, and intelligent life must do so if life arising from the planet Earth intends to continue onward into time and to approach infinity,

Each organism falls prey to the terminal malady of mortality; however, with reproduction, life may live on into infinity.

As human beings, the primal cravings to eat, to drink, and to reproduce, or to mate, drive a vast amount of our lives’ actions. Yet, eating and drinking only maintain life in the short term, whereas reproduction maintains life in the long term.

Most living organisms, not all but most, consume the resources around them as nourishment to metabolize, in order to sustain their living state for a period of time, in which they attempt to reproduce before they die, so that in their absence a likeness of themselves continues onward into time.

To the notion of the meaning of life, let us ask, “What does life do?”
