A Great Horned Owl waits in a tree, looking for its next meal to scurry across the leaf covered hillside in Walnut Creek. The owl’s hearing and eye sight is amazing as it silently zeroes in on a mouse.

Spotted a Bald Eagle on my hike last night. Spent about 10 minutes photographing it and decided to move 2 feet to the left and discovered its partner hanging out just below the tree line peeking out. It’s so amusing that the optical illusion makes the lower Bald Eagle look fake.

Patience pays off. Was hoping for an exchange to happen between the two Bald Eagles. Was watching one #Eagle perched on a branch for about 35 minutes, would occasionally hear the other Bald Eagle call from a distance. All of a sudden, it happened. So lucky to witness and capture this moment.

A Great Horned Owl scratching a hard to reach itch on its head. I was only able to find this neighborhood bird by following its hooting. Owl camouflage is incredible and makes it really difficult to spot these creatures.

This is why #Oakland rocks. A little downpour of #rain? No worries, my kid loves to swing in the atmospheric river.

The sky was on fire this morning. If you look very closely, Mt. Diablo is faintly in the picture enveloped by fog and orange sky.

I spent an amazing afternoon tracking a Bald #Eagle in Contra Costa County. I focused on the #bird atop a branch as another eagle descended on it and they switched places. I felt very fortunate to be able to witness such an event. In one moment, a Black Crow attempted to shoo away the Bald Eagle.

A lone #Swan makes it way across the #Lafayette Reservoir in Contra Costa County. Did you know Swans mate for life?
