My mother was a die hard Republican. When Newt Gingrich told his first wife he wanted a divorce as she was being treated for cancer, she left the party because she thought that was despicable and she couldn’t support a party who would support such a person. I think about that a lot these days.

Had a long phone conversation with an IRS employee today. When we were done, I thanked her for her time and all her help. I really wanted to add, “I hope you don’t get fired.”
