The making of a silk scarf…

Please pardon the poor quality of the photos, but I have a lot of work to do tonight I don’t have time to fix them. Here are samples of some of my hand-painted postcards. I plan to offer them for sale at Soul Brewery on Saturday. Be there, or be so sad that you don’t have my art postcards.

Design stamp, carve stamp, ink brayer, put ink on stamp, stamp paper, let dry, cut paper, score folding places, glue on glitter, fold, stuff with fluff, add string, close with hot glue, and spray with acrylic sealant.

I’ve run out of the soft rubber blocks I usually use, and I’m carving a regular linoleum block. Yikes, it’s a lot of hard work. I think I have to warm it up so it’s easier to carve…

I’m experimenting with decorating paper, and then cutting it into a snowflake. I like this combination of unplanned/textured chaos with snipped precision and symmetry. #snowflake
