Play TTRPGs while camping! It's super fun and all you need to carry around is some paper and a few pencils. Interrupt your trek through the wilderness to roleplay trekking through the wilderness. #dnd #ttrpg ​

Varying how players are spotlighted can help with this! It doesn't always need to be a long roleplay encounter dedicated to their backstory or motivations. Have that weird language they chose actually show up. Build an encounter where they'll stand out. Have an NPC recognize them by reputation.

Running an interrogation of your PCs? Have the interrogator say they'll be questioned one at a time, and have your players write down ahead of time what they plan on lying about or omitting to keep them honest as they hear their companions get interrogated. Will their stories line up? #dnd #ttrpg

DM Tip: Make your world, but let your players change it. If one of your players says their character used to visit the beachside town of "Clam" as a kid, that's now a real town and it's filled with briny adventure. (and don't be surprised if that's their next destination!) #dnd #ttrpg​

This can also help with pacing. If you need to squeeze a fight in, switching to theater of the mind (even if you have a map) can let some of the nitty-gritty details slide and increase the pace. Just know that there are people that like the nitty-gritty and abilities that require it, so be careful!

I'm toying around with how to make a D&D character feel like they have foresight, in a way that's actually fun. Current idea: once at the start of combat, they write down a trigger that (if it happens) lets them take another turn. Like holding an action, but for free. Is that crazy? #dnd #ttrpg
