Another half where we don’t look out of our depth at all & probably the better side overall. Think we lose a bit of shape without Nmecha up top & not sure DCL is up to speed yet. Okafor looking promising & both our full-backs class again. If we’re brave we could win this off the bench. #lufc

I feel obligated to say that I do think the ten players we brought in seem like decent enough acquisitions & business done in previous windows means we're not in terrible shape. Decent showing so far. You wouldn’t think one of these teams is the richest club in the world from watching that. Both look fairly well organised but both sides missing a goalscorer. No slight on Nmecha though, he’s improved our shape similarly to how Bamford did. Longstaff good, Gnonto too. #lufc

Genuinely think but for injuries Patrick Bamford could have been regarded as one of the best English (ahem, Irish) strikers of his generation. We only really saw his potential realised in our first season in the PL under Bielsa. Also a very good sort & it’s a shame he never got fit again. #lufc

Carlos Corberan managing Largie Ramazani has some serious ‘here’s what you could have won’ potential for this season & possibly beyond. Disappointed about Ramazani, think there was more to come from him. Wouldn’t be against seeing him come back one day if circumstances allow. #lufc

I’m a bit of a connoisseur of shit Leeds performances in cup competitions & that’s up there with my all time favourites. Darlow’s majestic own goal. DCL’s truly astonishing cameo. Missing every penalty. The fact that we lost to some children at a club tearing itself apart. Positively sublime. #lufc

You can criticise the club’s recruitment all you want but if anyone dares to claim that they can think of a more perfect analogue for Bamford than DCL after watching that, you’re being disingenuous. It was like watching the real thing. #lufc

If we’ve actually managed to get around £3.5m for Sam Greenwood I am absolutely chuffed. Not that he’s totally without merit as a player but never thought we’d see a profit on him. Potentially big for our PSR, may mean we don’t have to sell another player in this window unless we want to. #lufc

Honestly think it’s good to get one of those in early doors (though you don’t want it as your first match). There’s a clear gulf in class there & it’s better to see that now, whilst the window is still open. We’ve got some good players to come back in & few teams are as good as this lot. #lufc

Big Jos Guilavogui watching the match with his family & friends, having talked the ears off Lukas Nmecha about joining Leeds this summer. Struggling to think of another player who played so little football & was with us for such a short period of time but made as big an impact. What a guy! #lufc

What a result that is, obviously the win & the points are huge but the performance arguably even more significant. Everton not the finished article but a solid, workmanlike opponent under Moyes & we made them look desperately short of ideas & kept them on the back foot. We can build on this. #lufc
