I have become something of a collector of footballing opinions that bridge the divide between differing camps of fans. It’s fascinating to me how certain things are agreed upon by stat fixated youngsters who largely came into the game via video games & older legacy fans who actually played a bit.

As discussed at length, January a bad time to do business for a host of reasons & for a newly promoted side with PSR concerns it’s even harder. I’m actually fine with not paying inflated fees, being sensibly run is unglamorous but ultimately your best shot at long term survive at this level. #lufc

Mateta is evidently injured & look how close Palace came to getting a big fee for him. There are many reasons that business in January is best avoided where possible but this & the infamous Augustin deal are a timely reminder of what sort of player many clubs are looking to offload. #lufc

I’ve gone from ‘could sneak a win here’ to ‘actually snap your entire hand, wrist & forearm off for a draw’ the very second my eye met that team sheet.
