this was from Eclogue, written for and performed at the St. Bees festival, 14 April 1962. For 2 flutes (both doubling piccolo), 2 oboes, 2 clarinets, 2 bassoons, 2 horns, 2 trumpets, timpani, maracca, slung cymbal, clashed cymbals, harp (optional), strings. Programmatic element based on Homer.
