Looking back 15 years and here are some of the very earliest Doodlecats. I drew everything with pencil, then pen (and by looks of this coloured pencil but I didn't do that often) on paper back then. The stick legs were quite limiting with poses but it was fun to work out how to make them work!

One of the things that frustrates me drawing black cats, is that the classic Doodlecats eyes (top left) disappear. I've been experimenting this morning. I think the green eyes works ok on the black cat but not on the ginger. Maybe only black cats get a bit of extra eye colour?

I thought I would do a quick drawing of Molly from this morning (see previous post). The more I study cat anatomy, the more I learn that they just don't conform to the laws of physics at all.

Yesterday I posted a picture of a cat dressed as a pigeon and someone in the comments replied with a photo of a dog in a squirrel costume... so obviously this had to happen.

I only made a little bit of progress on these party cats this morning before my neck decided that I should absolutely not look down at all. I think I need to rest it for a while. It's hard when you want to draw all the time but have a body that says no. Hopefully I can finish this next week.
