I talked about sunshine too much laster week (and how it inspired me wanting to draw cats and plants). Now it's all gloomy and the cats just want blankets and radiators again. That hasn't stopped me finishing this illustration though :D

I've done the linework now and blocked out the colours (I have three layers for colour - cats, plants and pots)

When the sun comes out at this time of year I always end up wanting to draw cats with plants (even though the combination is always a recipe for disaster!)

Sometimes I get a bit stuck drawing Doodlecats. I've been drawing them for nearly 15 years. I don't feel like I can ever change the basics of Doodlecats but I can go back to real cats and see what I can take from them to make Doodlecats better, if that makes sense?

Sunshine means the cats a really enjoying just being outside. Molly loves this pampas grass, she likes to hide in it.

Nope, nothing is getting done today

I'm still getting used to drawing with the pencil strapped to my fingers. It's definitely the least painful way I've found to draw and not lose accuracy etc so I'm pleased that I'm able to do a little bit more.

I've been experimenting today. If any of you follow my other page, you'll have seen that I've been able to draw some birds with my fingers on my phone. It's made me realise quite how much it's using my thumb that causes me pain.

Sunshine means following Pixie round the garden so she can sniff everything, even if the ground is so wet that it's like walking in a bog. She had fun!

Sunshine!! We had some sun on Saturday for what felt like the first time this year and it's sunny again today which means happy cats!!!! I wish I could spend the day laying in a sunbeam too.

Worked a bit more on my jungle cats. It's so easy to get lost - in the jungle, and in drawing. Need to rest my hand for a while now. Oops.
