Very sad news tonight about Paul Durcan RIP. A great loss to Irish poetry. Here’s an old interview I did with him from the 90s.

We’re trying a rather radical new approach at Piccalilli by doing real world projects — for real clients — in the open. This gives us a context to provide genuine high quality, real world education for free at the point of entry.

I follow a lot of people on here who post poetry or programming images without alt text and it quietly reduces your impact in ways you might not be aware of, since many people have a preference for interacting with accessible content even if they don’t “need” it.

Woke to read about Pat Ingoldsby’s death today. Like a lot of us, I had a few chats with Pat on the street as he was selling books of poems over the years. The chats and the poems both made a big impression on me. RIP

RIP Pat Ingoldsby a much loved poet. Connected with people of all ages. Probably the first real life poet many of us saw as kids on TV or on the streets of Dublin selling his poetry collections.

Good list! I’d add Open Hand Atlanta, it has volunteer roles for packing meals but also can always use drivers to deliver them, even if you only have occasional availability.

Something I always enjoy when there’s snow is catching occasional reflections of the fireplace that make seem like there’s an impossible fire in the garden. My wife incorrectly assumed I was recording something of actual interest, which as usual, was not the case.

Now I’ve seen a few lemon pigs but I’m curious if there’s anybody out there doing what my brother-in-law and his friend do, which is eat an entire lemon at midnight.
