I have seen online that many people have misconceptions about the Kalama Sutta. It saddens me very much that I see people twisting this sutta to try and make Buddhism fit their deluded worldview. Everything we we perceive is filtered through the lens of our afflictions. 1/4

Q: Is karma what goes around comes around? A: No. Karma is your volitional thought, speech, and action. Do good, and good results. Do bad, bad results. The saying goes, one plants trees whose shade they shall never sit in. Sow karmic seeds you’d hope to reap not for you, but for the sake of all.

Q: Why does it take many lifetimes to become enlightened? A: All Buddhist paths lead to nirvana in one lifetime. Theravada, Mahayana, & Vajrayana. However, everyone is at different levels of practice. A beginner who gets enlightened may have cultivated for many lifetimes prior. So keep practicing!

Being gay does not mean “promiscuous behavior” Assuming all gay people sleep around all the time is pretty bad!
