Since our founding in the 1990s, the Black homeownership rate in Minnesota has decreased from 30% to 26%, while homeownership rates for all other racial demographic groups have increased.

Over the last 30 years, the average rent in Minnesota has increased by 242%, while the state minimum wage has only increased by 162%. As rent increases continue to outpace wage increases, more and more neighbors need affordable housing options.

Housing in Action was devastated to hear of the loss of one of our residents, Liberty Borg, last weekend. From Liberty's family: "She was a loving daughter, mother, sister, and friend to so many. Her kindness, laughter, and unwavering support will be missed by all who knew her."
