More activity in the main entrance this morning in the Festival Gardens with Steve, Chi and Matt and local children learning how to plant bulbs. Thanks everyone!

Working with Fionnuala and Matt this morning, planting bulbs in the sunflower bed for some spring colour. Meanwhile, Joanne filled another bag of litter while Steve took care of 🛠️.

Digging, weeding, planting - thanks to Penny, Steve, Jordan, Val, Liss, Chi, Margaret, Peter, Matt, Lucy and Nadev! Also thanks to Sylvia for donating bulbs which were duly planted this morning. 🌱Glorious morning but next time we'll chose to pose somewhere where we're not squinting or in shadow!

Prom entrance tidier now after yesterday’s session with Friends of Festival Gardens-thanks everyone 🙂

Brilliant work from LSSL this morning (thanks to Jimmy for organising!). They’ve jet washed the front entrance, revealed the signage, weeded and cleared paths to and from the car park, removed fallen tree etc. etc.

Thanks to Steve, SteveM, Val (busy litter picking), Donna, Jo, Penny, Sam and all the guys from LSSL for all their work in our Day of Action in the Festival Gardens today! 💪🏼👏 You can now see the sign!

One team re-defined the bridge border in the Festival Gardens with lambs’ tongues, alchemilla mollis, houttuniya and liatris spicata, planted by volunteers last Spring. (Joanne photo shy again)!

Chi busy planting in the Children’s border this morning…

Thanks to Steve, Jordan, SteveM, Penny, Matt, Liss, Chi, Colin and Rob for this morning’s session. Brambles cleared, paths widened, planting and, of course, litter picking in the Japanese Garden!

Thank you to Steve, Jordan, Penny, Bridget, Jade, Neil, Calvin, David, Sam, Debbie, Donna, Joe, Austin and Michael for transforming parts of the main entrance in yesterday's volunteering day! Weeding, planting, clearing, deadheading galore!

Pretty in pink/purple in biodiversity area of the Festival Gardens, Liverpool. Great willow herb, common knapweed, purple loosestrife, fringed willow herb, marsh woundwort and creeping thistle, unless I’m very much mistaken.

Thanks also to Sam, Joanne, Jordan, Penny and SteveM for weeding, planting, edging, sweeping and clearing more bindweed… by the Moon Wall.

Lots of wild flowers attracting pollinators- wild teasel, spear thistle, hairy willow herb, wild carrot, yellow sweet clover and ragwort - in the Festival Gardens.

Thank you to Val, Penny, Sam and Steve for work by the Moon Wall in this morning’s midweek session. Lots of weeding, sweeping and mulching!

Thanks to Jordan, Penny, Ann, Chi, Jill, Vanessa, Sam and Bridget - woodland steps cleared, plus litter picking and clearing the side of one the bridges. Another hot one but grateful for some shade.

Bindweed cleared, liberating David’s Viburnum and Cotoneaster - volunteer morning in the Festival Gardens Liverpool

Thanks to volunteers from Vitaflo, Crisis, Crown Commercial Services and our very own Steves who tackled the bindweed and brambles this morning. Shrubs including David’s Viburnum and cotoneaster liberated!
