We planted a ton of bulbs today on Crown Way. Crocuses, native tulips, daffs, etc. Also some rose bushes. Should be lovely come spring.

We’d like to shine a spotlight on the amazing pavement warriors…..showing up in the most hostile environments, with resilience and beauty. Nature wants to bloom and thrive, we just need to support it and help give it room.

Amazingly, the sunflowers we planted in spring which survived the brutal summer drought (with quite a lot of help from Cathays Wild Gardeners) are now flourishing. Lush.

Our first Wild Art commission is pretty much finished, it’s located on Miskin street, at the end of Llanbleddian Gardens……we aim to do more in Cathays, so please let us know of any potential sites/spots.

The Tour ends at Maindy Velodrome to honour Geraint Thomas. We're going to tidy it up in preparation.

Update on this: the council guys delivering the compost very kindly filled the planters for us so no need for spades and brushes!

If anyone fancies helping, we're getting compost for this tomorrow night and planting it up. 6pm Tuesday 12th. Sorry for the late notice. If you have a shovel and/or a brush it would be great if you could bring one/both!

First Sunday of the month meet up this Sunday, 3rd August. All welcome. The plan is to tidy up and weed the SUDS on Cathays terrace. Also litter picking. Perhaps also some buddleia pruning as they've gone a bit feral 🙂

A Little Owl has been sighted (and also independently picked up on the Merlin app) on Maindy Road, Cathays. How exciting! 🙂

Thanks to everyone who came and planted sunflowers, verbena and cosmos today!

Message from Mel: "This coming Sunday is our monthly get together/work session. Meeting at 11am at Rhigos Gardens. We have 200 sunflowers to plant, covering Cathays in glorious yellow flowers. The idea is to scatter them around, planting in different areas."

Hats off to the local park, they're doing incredible work for the insects this year. There are several beds this big.
