Goodness, I was losing hope that wildflower seeds we planted last autumn on the verge of Whitchurch Road by the barracks would ever amount to anything but now look!

We commissioned Bethan Richards to paint this on the green patch opposite lidl Cathays. Amazing work!

The bulbs we planted last year are beginning to bloom. Mainly daffodils so far but some others too.

For February’s Sunday Session (this Sunday!!) we’ll be continuing the hedgerow planting on Crown Way, come and join us 🪴🪏🤗

Hey all :) Some exciting news……this winter we have planted over 15k pollinator friendly bulbs in and around Cathays. It’s going to bloom come spring, and hopefully add much needed pollen and nectar for our insects.

We planted a ton of bulbs today on Crown Way. Crocuses, native tulips, daffs, etc. Also some rose bushes. Should be lovely come spring.

We’d like to shine a spotlight on the amazing pavement warriors…..showing up in the most hostile environments, with resilience and beauty. Nature wants to bloom and thrive, we just need to support it and help give it room.

Amazingly, the sunflowers we planted in spring which survived the brutal summer drought (with quite a lot of help from Cathays Wild Gardeners) are now flourishing. Lush.

Our first Wild Art commission is pretty much finished, it’s located on Miskin street, at the end of Llanbleddian Gardens……we aim to do more in Cathays, so please let us know of any potential sites/spots.
