I think the only thing we know for sure is that the Karm people were really into poisons and various other drugs, so I assume that was their main thing? I could imagine different sub-families specializing in different techniques. But Gallanth influenced Seox for sure

I think it was implied that Seox was already super physically strong and gifted as a child, but dad sure helped polish those latent abilities. The real angst comes in when Danchou starts to wonder "would dad have stayed if I'd been a better/ stronger kid?"
