We'll see how successful the rescue mission in Iran was once we learn about the losses American forces took during the operation. If they destroyed two valuable planes, they were definitely under a lot of pressure, and you don't escape from that kind of fighting unscathed.

Trump probably fired the generals because he fears a mutiny or coup. Considering that he's responsible for a failing war, he might have a point. Also, a military coup in the United States would satisfy nobody, and the new government would crack down on the left much harder than the far-right.
