I’m all ready for my JC maths!

When I woke this morning I sat bolt upright and said Leaving Cert starts today 😂 it’s not just the students that feel the dread!

The JC student has abandoned all hope so in traditional Irish Mammy fashion I’m cooking up a storm

I’m sitting drinking tea in Belfast having seen a surgeon yesterday evening who will attempt to fix my botched knee! His only question was why did they not go back in and fix it 😱 it’s not raining either!

The Irish private health sector is a cartel I’m sure of it now! One surgery went wrong and I cannot get anyone to fix it 😡 just get on with it it’ll get better 🙄 having broken my wrist last year and gone through the public system I know they’re painfully slow but they are very thorough! Rant over

Just in case you think there are sane people living here or sane cats for that matter

I’m a teacher and today I taught a 17 year old how to take tablets without choking and another one how to tie his tie! It’s not all about the books

After many years just leaving it because it’s too far to try hobble into a shop etc today I received my disability parking ☺️ having been refused to sign by GP several times my pain consultant said that’s ridiculous give me the form now I’m waiting for someone to challenge me 🙄 could be a blog!

4 months now since I limped in to get my knee fixed and here I am still on crutches (wasn’t on them prior) and really considering the wheelchair propped up at the door 😞

The very worst thing about teenagers having phones is that they can continue to whinge at you despite not being in the house 😩

Imagine 5 years ago everything changed so fast and society has never recovered imo. People have changed so much, my husband alone never returned to the office that has long lasting effects. Will we ever recover?

In the blink of an eye

Day two of the unloader brace on knee and proper painkillers the thoughts of 8 weeks minimum is not appealing 😩 I never heard of osteonecrosis until I felt the stupid thing 🙄

Mystery of the unbearable pain in knee solved! Huge bruising to end of femur so it’s into a specialist brace and crutches for me

Child 3: this is my last game Friend: why? Child 3: I have a bedtime she won’t let me Friend: it’s holidays that’s mean! Child 3: you’re more than welcome to tell my mother that but this is my last game And that’s how you parent everyone

Child 3 is playing Fortnite with her buddies and just informed them she was having curried cheese chips but homemade because they’re better for you 😂

It is FREEZING

I spoke to a person today and it gave me great pleasure to listen, take all her concerns and crush them into waste! She left me smiling and saying thank you so much no one has ever listened and told me you’re totally right and it’ll be fine just keep going you’re doing a brilliant job

Child 3: do people actually read newspapers anymore? Me: I’m reading one right now in front of you! Child 3: yes but I mean real people Me: I am real! Child 3: no you’re a Mammy Me: rustling paper noisily

Child 3: did you know that if we held a minutes silence for each soul in Auschwitz we’d be silent for over 11 years! Me: I’m happy to do that Child 3: you’re impossible mother never miss an opportunity Me: 😇

Ah lads is life supposed to be this hard? Seriously this can’t be all there is

I watched Small Things Like These last night and it was brilliant! I worked in that premises not long after the nuns moved out and people would visit to try face their demons 😞 I’ll never forget their terror as they couldn’t step into a room, it was too much for them and they told me of their horror

That’s how I tackled #storméowyn

Children have survived 29 hours without power and phones only because I had 2 working phones 😂

I’m now calling it #thebigwind just to wind the teenagers up and telling them of the time Hurricane Charlie broke the 400 year old oak out the front at home 😂 #storméowyn #speirgorm you can’t beat Irish parenting
