Yesterday Teresa and I planted over 100 baby vegetable plants in the community garden! That felt wonderful! It was also a very tough day as my friend Lewis was in terrible cancer pain and ended up dying at 10 pm. Today I am processing my feelings. 🌱 #PNWGardening

My dear friend Lewis is slowly crossing over the rainbow bridge. I have been doing my best to show him love and care. It is so hard to see him fade as the cancer invades all parts of him! But the last sense to go is the sense of touch! If you care for someone show them love by touch! Life is short!

Fuchsia, my favorite plant genus! This is Fuchsia magellanica ‘Alba’. Its blossoms cover the branches and dance in the wind, like tiny pink ballerinas! I have 9 different kinds of Fuchsias. I enjoy each one for different reasons. I will post each one as they bloom. 🌱 #PNWGardening

The blind mouse sits expectantly amid the Begonia southerlandii and the coral Azalea! In another month the Begonias will be orange in bloom and the Azalea will drop out. 🌱 #PNWGardening

evergreen Azaleas are the workhorses of W Oregon gardens! I began pruning this lovely variety “Treasure” into a bonsai over 25 years ago. When it blooms it is fantastic but still has a presence in winter with its evergreen leaves and structure! 🌱 #PNWGardening
