Another "unexpected" behavior for this #VFXFriday If frac() just leaves the fractional part of the number why is the result not this mirrored gradient that we'd expect? Because what is happening under the hood is x -floor(x)! So for example frac(-0.1) is -0.1 - (-1) = 0.9 🤯 #realtimeVFX #gamedev

The Remap Value Range node in UEs material editor is lying to you!!! Well - at least it can give you results you might not expect.

Today I Learned: You can enable "Determinism" on your emitters to let you scrub your FX backwards in Niagara. Just be sure to turn it back off when your done so your FX still has random seeds at the end! #ue5 #rtvfx #gamedev
