I made another WordPress plugin now to have a landing page that shows "link in bio" images for soc media links in bio.

As I continue to build my blog like I care, I started to make social media accounts for it. @akosirkal.blog is the bsky for it. As always I use its own domain. I do not except following, it is in Hungarian. I just write about it because I am doing it.

Playing Gran Turismo more than one lap for a first time. I do not know what changed. I got older, have more patience for empty meaningless car races. What is next? Fifa??????

Ok. So making wordpress plugin is fun. A little hellish, outside my comfort zone. I hate to mix html with php. Also to make it releasable it have to be ugly... yet finally I am out of my depth and learning something. Not something important. But something.

After fighting the urge to make a Wordpress plugin for since forever, now my site needs a custom grid for my taste... so I will do it. And I kinda like the modern pipline of doing things.

WordPress is so much better than before. But it is bad to see plugins are mostly spies doing spy work for companies. I have to be GDPR compliment, yet plug-ins start to collect data in my database and others.

I enjoy building my blog. It just a breath fresh air, because I know what I am doing and feels good to be in control, before I jump in to making a game in Godot.

I made a small device that tells me what satellites fly over my head. #raspberrypi pico is super limited but I managed to do the API call fit in the memory by limiting the angle of sky.

I started to play Death Stranding 2. I like its language. A the brightness setup screen they say to set up as it feels good, they recommend 5. Also it explains everything seamlessly, put you on a mission very fast. Made my first delivery. It felt good. Also it looks more beautiful than ever.

I have a lot of random game ideas, but what I learned making an absolutely small and pointless game for 2+ years that, no matter the idea it is hard, time consuming, needs motivation and it is hard to do it alone. If there will be a next one I will need artists. And money for them.

So far my PS5 is a good console, but all the games I have played on it crashed at least once. Even Vampire Survivors. On my Xbox One I used for 6 years, a lot of time for 12 or more hours (afk farming in GTA Online) it only crashed with actual bad games.

First round my game was rejected by Steam as turns out full controller support is harder than I imagined. UI making is my biggest enemy. But I am doing this to learn. So I do that.

At every big Unreal Engine release I have the urge to jump in, but then I realize how big of an undertaking it is and without a project to do in it, I am not keen on just play around in it. Also I will need a much better computer than my current one.

My first very very simple expo app is up for review at google, my first very very simple unity game is up for review at steam. Now I wait.

It is so funny I can not run ps1 files, but I can copy its contents in to powershell and it just works. Windows security is a joke.

Yesterday I worked more on my game than the last 5 weeks. I finally finished the level selector menu, added every music, simplified level generation code and fixed some non-game-breaking bugs. All this in 4 hours. Motivation and time is hard to come by these days. I am happy I am here now.

Wanted to download Wikipedia to have an offline resource. This is how I found Kiwix. It is awesome.

When Unity crashes it brings down the screen and video card for about 5 seconds with itself. It is a huge crash. But on the other hand it runs for months the computer hibernated when I am not at it.

In my original game logic I had a 100 case long switch case block without a lot of breaks as lot of levels were the same. I thought I will put more level specific stuff in so it made sense a year ago. But now I just made it into 3 if statements taking up 24 lines of code.

After I finish my game I drop windows for Linux Mint. I do not want the hassle of reinstalling Unity and building and testing the game for windows in VM.

Making the Language system in my game was the most fun to be honest. Game logic did not excite me that much. Language system is not even a big part of the game. It is a small class, reading a json file based on country code. #programming

For a long time PS5's dashboard is the one I like. It has nice chimes and effects. You can de-clutter it freely. It feels like a gaming console.

#elitedangerous keeps being awesome! Ringed planet's surface. Betelgeuse star is soo big you can fuel sceep at the closest planet. Also I found a binary star system stars so close you can write a 8 around them while scooping both!
