In order to fit as much as possible in within a short time, for now the map will be the map of Ravenholm I downloaded from some random guy of Sketchfab, which isn't too bad seeing as a few Half-Life fan games seem to use Ravenholm for their demo? I have a lot to fix under the hood as well...

Closer to the deadline I'm realising that the features I planned for stage 1 will most likely be ready for the Christmas release. However, the models may not all be ready. I'm not even sure I can produce a map in time, we'll see...

This may be my first full project in LWJGL and may also very well be an ambitious goal, but I'm fairly confident in my abilities that I will be able to make something good. This last week I've managed to figure a lot of things out just with my own intuition and I feel like I'm learning quite quickly

I've already got the classic purple and black 'missing textures' texture implemented, the next step would obviously be to add this guy as well. Unfortunately, I have a feeling I may be using this a lot...

I gave it another go, verdict: I still really hate transparency, good news however, I managed to implement GUI and weapons overlay

Been ages since my last update progress is slow, spent way too much time working out GUI and HUD, and have had to switch operating systems 6 times this week. Still fighting the curse, pretty sure still on track for Christmas...

4 day long weekend! I'm hoping to be able to get quite a bit done by then. I'm thinking finish player movement, HUD, some models, and have a good looking environment.

Too tired to implement player and game physics rn. Trying to get as much of necessary modelling and concept art done as possible.

Mouse movement is harder than I thought. Implementing a first person camera took me all day...

I think the plan is to start making the simple free demo, make it really basic, and add newer features in stages and release each stage of the demo. For this first stage I'm hoping to implement basic walking, weapons, PCV, crawling, charging/healing, HUD and decals. Working on the basic map atm.

I think from now on, I'm going to make regular updates on what I'm working on, what I've achieved, and future goals. It'd be nice just to have a log of my progress. So here goes, first update: transparency fucking sucks

Features include: - Normal mapping, models made by RegularSanwich - Audio, soundtrack by hexagonopus - a skybox - terrain - object selection - fog -shadows It's not much, but it's something!
